Electrical Subject Matter Expert / Technical Writer
We have an exciting opportunity at JADE Learning- writing content for our 2026 NEC Changes course. We are looking for experienced, enthusiastic NEC professionals who can help us develop training materials for electricians, electrical inspectors, and electrical contractors. This is a contractor position that can be completed on evenings and/or weekends.
JADE Learning is the largest provider of electrical continuing education courses in North Carolina. We are also a national continuing education provider with approvals to offer courses in 40+ states.
We have an immediate need for talented individuals who can write about the National Electrical Code in simple and straightforward language. Our customers want clear NEC explanations backed up by real world experience and examples.
Job requirements include:
• 6+ years’ experience in the electrical trade as an electrician, contractor, and/or inspector.
• Current certification as an electrical inspector / electrician / or similar position
• Preferred experience developing training material or writing technical content.
• Experience in the trade and field considered if not all requirements are met.
Benefits include: $400-$500 per completed section of written course material. We also pay for technical reviews. We are looking for someone with availability now; the position has the potential to be longer term as well.
Contract Length:
• 5 - 6 months
