Electrical Designer – Lighting and Traffic Signals

They are seeking an Electrical Designer – Lighting and Traffic Signals to work on multi-disciplinary projects, providing clients with superior customer experiences and contributing to the technical expertise in traffic signal and illumination design.ResponsibilitiesContribute to the technical expertise on a variety of multi-disciplinary projects including: Design of traffic signals and illuminationPrepare lighting and traffic signal layoutsPrepare wiring diagrams and electrical detailsPhotometric analysis of lighting systemsDesign of low voltage electrical distribution design for subdivisionsVoltage drop calculationsPrepare contract documents and specificationsSite visits and contract administrationCoordinate a variety of multi-disciplinary projects for both public and private sector clientsBusiness travel to other Dillon offices upon requestCommit to self-development and ongoing learning and professional developmentInput to the career development of junior staff, including technical direction, training recommendations, coaching and mentoringContribute to Dillon’s corporate profile through active participation in professional associations and committeesSkillsA degree in electrical engineeringLicensed to practice as a professional engineer in Ontario, or eligible to be licensed within six monthsA minimum of 1-4 years of professional experience, preferably in the consulting industryProven experience in the design of traffic signals and illuminationKnowledge of AGi32 and other lighting calculation programsKnowledge of various municipal and MTO lighting and traffic signal design standardsKnowledge of MTO Contract Preparation System (CPS)Knowledge of ANSI/IES, Transportation Association of Canada standards and Ontario Electrical Safety Code as they relate to lighting and traffic signalsStrong abilities in project management/coordinationExceptional communication (verbal and written) skills are essentialIMSA Certifications in Traffic Signal Level I and Level II Design, Roadway Lighting Technician Level I and Level II are considered an assetBenefitsEmployee share purchase plan Dillon is 100% employee owned and share ownership is open to all employees.A competitive compensation packageComprehensive health benefitsGenerous retirement savings planStudent loan repayment assistance with matching employer contributionsFlexible work hours and hybrid working optionsLearning and Development opportunitiesFocus on InnovationEmployee and Family Assistance programGoodlife Fitness Corporate MembershipWellness SubsidyCompany OverviewDillon is a proudly Canadian, employee-owned, professional consulting firm with over 1,100 employees specializing in planning, engineering, environmental science and management.
