ELA, Executive Functioning, Reading Certified Teachers (Virtual)
Job Description:
Christine Santos LLC is currently seeking experienced and dynamic virtual teachers to join our team on a 1099 contract basis. We are looking for educators with a passion for interactive, engaging, and innovative teaching methods. Our focus is on hiring ELA, Executive Function, Reading and Math teachers who can deliver game-based, project-oriented, and Socratic-style lessons.
All teachers must be certified in the area they are teaching. Additional opportunities to create classes based on your passion and credentials may be available.
Teaching Format: Each class is 30 minutes long, meeting once a week, with a maximum of 4 learners per session. You must be proficient in delivering short, impactful lessons within this timeframe. You will only have 4 learners max in each class.
Interactive Teaching: Our teaching approach emphasizes gamified learning, project-based activities, and Socratic dialogue. We are not looking for traditional lecture-based methods; instead, we require creative use of all available virtual learning tools.
Outside Responsibilities: You will be responsible for creating gamified lesson plans, as well as handling additional tasks like homework creation, progress reports, and assessments. These additional responsibilities are not included in the classroom teaching rate but do not require extensive time outside of class. More details will be discussed during the interview process.
Parent Communication: You will need to maintain regular communication with parents regarding their childs progress.
1:1 Teaching: To qualify for 1:1 sessions, you must also be able to teach group classes.
Compensation:
Group Classes: Compensation information will be discussed in the first email.
Active Teaching Time: Only active teaching time is counted for the project rate. Additional responsibilities outside of class are not included in this rate.
Work Schedule:
Flexible Hours: As a 1099 contractor, you have the freedom to create your own schedule. However, currently we are only hiring educators who are available Monday through Friday 9am to 4pm Eastern. Please be available, at minimum, through June.
No Marketing Needed: There is no marketing necessary for this opportunity.
Consistency: We cannot guarantee that all classes will run or run consistently, but we do our best to fill the seats. We will always run a group class - even with 1 learner.
Requirements:
Must reside in the United States.
Extensive experience in virtual teaching, including the use of interactive games and tools.
Ability to create gamified lesson plans and implement the latest virtual teaching techniques.
Experience in educating children aged 3-18 years.
Must be a certified teacher.
Must not have taught on Outschool before.
Commitment to the school year and a consistent schedule.
Additional Information:
This position is ideal for educators seeking part-time work while maintaining a full-time role (if desired).
Classes will be hosted on Outschool. No prior experience with this platform is required; all necessary information will be provided.
Video Requirements: Candidates MUST send a video introducing themselves and their teaching methodology in the area they are teaching. This is to show your personality and who you are as an educator. Please be exactly as you would be while teaching. This is the next step in the hiring process. Once hired, you will also need to submit a video bio for your profile talking to the parents.
Cancellations and Rescheduling: Must be kept to a minimum; otherwise, the contract may be voided. Though this is a contract position, it still should be taken seriously.

Project-based pay is set by class size for each 30-minute session. Classes run regardless of enrollment, so youll be teaching even with just 1 learner. Class sizes may vary weekly.
$10 for 1 learner (equivalent to $20/hour)
$15 for 2 learners (equivalent to $30/hour)
$20 for 3 learners (equivalent to $40/hour)
$25 for 4 learners (equivalent to $50/hour)
$30 for 5 learners (equivalent to $60/hour)
Additionally:
1:1 sessions at $20 for 30 mins and $40 for 60 mins.
Homework assignments are required to be posted after each class, and progress reports sent regularly. We can work with you to ensure these tasks dont require much time outside of your active teaching time.
