Exciting Opportunity to Make a Difference in Young Lives South Lane School District is seeking a dedicated and passionate Education Assistant to join our team at Harrison Elementary School's Early Learning Center in Cottage Grove, OR. As a Preschool Promise Education Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting the educational and developmental needs of our young students. Key Responsibilities As a Preschool Promise Education Assistant, you will work closely with our teaching staff to support the educational and developmental needs of our young students. Your key responsibilities will include: Assisting teaching staff with instructional tasks, including working with students in small groups and one-on-one settings Maintaining accurate records and assisting with record keeping, copying, filing, and grading assignments Supervising students during classroom activities, recess, lunch, and before/after school Assisting with the development of educational materials and maintaining classroom supplies Communicating effectively with teachers, administrators, and parents/guardians Maintaining a safe and supportive learning environment Participating in in-service trainings and staff meetings as required Essential Qualifications To be successful in this role, you will need to possess the following essential qualifications: An Associate's degree (A.A.) or equivalent (72 quarter hours) from a college or technical school, or the ability to pass the district's assessment demonstrating knowledge of, and the ability to assist in reading, writing, and math Prior successful experience working in a school setting or with children is strongly preferred Excellent communication and interpersonal skills Ability to work effectively with students, teachers, and parents/guardians from diverse backgrounds Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with discretion Preferred Qualifications In addition to the essential qualifications, we are looking for candidates who possess the following preferred qualifications: Experience with database software, educational software, and online programs, spreadsheets, and word processing software Ability to obtain a valid CPR/First Aid card Certificates as determined by the District, including meeting current No Child Left Behind certification requirements What We Offer As a member of our team, you will enjoy a range of benefits, including: A competitive salary range of $16.71 to $17.99 per hour A full-time position with a regular schedule Opportunities for professional growth and development A supportive and inclusive work environment A chance to make a positive impact in the lives of our young students Work Environment Our Early Learning Center is a dynamic and engaging environment that is designed to support the unique needs of our young students. You will be required to lift and/or move up to 25 pounds and occasionally up to 50 pounds, and may be exposed to wet or humid conditions and outdoor weather conditions.
