About the position
The Early Head Start Teacher is responsible for developing and implementing educational plans for infants and toddlers, focusing on their social-emotional, physical, and cognitive growth. This role involves collaboration with a Co-Teacher to manage classroom operations, ensure compliance with regulations, and foster partnerships with families. The teacher plays a crucial role in safeguarding children and promoting their well-being while adhering to the values of Save the Children.
Responsibilities
ย Develop and implement individualized and group lesson plans and educational activities for children.

ย Guide and facilitate daily classroom activities and field trips.

ย Select and set up equipment and materials in the classroom, ensuring a safe learning environment.

ย Practice responsive caregiving and integrate appropriate routines into learning experiences.

ย Plan and conduct conferences and home visits to inform parents about their child's progress.

ย Maintain accurate records and confidentiality regarding children and families.

ย Conduct observations, assessments, and screenings for each child.

ย Work with Program Aides and Volunteers to enhance their skills in classroom activities.

ย Implement active supervision techniques to ensure child safety.

ย Assist children during mealtime to teach social and self-help skills.

ย Engage parents in their children's education through involvement and activities.

ย Create an inventory of classroom equipment and supplies annually.

ย Collaborate with the Manager of Education & Inclusion on professional development plans.

ย Keep the classroom clean and organized.

Requirements
ย Minimum of an associate degree in child development, early childhood education, or a related field with relevant coursework.

ย Professional proficiency in spoken and written English.
,
ย Ability to communicate and collaborate effectively with individuals and teams.

ย Strong interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills.
,
ย Ability to follow directions and take initiative.
,
ย Knowledge of the Head Start/Early Head Start program.

ย Sensitivity in relating to children.
