We are currently seeking highly motivated individuals to join our team as a Drill Rig Operator, Trainee 1 or Trainee 2. In this role, you will have the opportunity to learn and develop new skills while contributing to the important work of maintaining and improving our state's infrastructure. Operate drilling rig equipment safely and efficiently under the guidance of experienced Drill Rig Operators.
Learn and adhere to all safety protocols and procedures while on the job site.
Assist in the daily set-up, operation, and maintenance of drilling rig equipment.
Perform basic maintenance tasks, such as greasing and changing oil, on drilling rig equipment.
Learn and understand the various types of drilling methods and techniques used in different geological settings.
Communicate effectively with team members and supervisors to ensure efficient and safe operation of equipment.
Keep accurate records of drilling activities, including location, depth, and type of material drilled.
Participate in training and development opportunities to improve skills and knowledge.
Follow all state and federal regulations and guidelines related to drilling operations.
Demonstrate a strong work ethic and commitment to learning and improving in the role.
Maintain a clean and organized work area to ensure safe and efficient operations.
Assist in troubleshooting and resolving issues that may arise during drilling operations.
Represent the State of New York in a professional and positive manner while interacting with the public and other agencies.
Continuously seek to improve efficiency and effectiveness of drilling operations.
Embrace a team-oriented approach and work collaboratively with other team members to achieve goals and complete tasks.
