Drafter/Designer

The role involves providing technical design and CADD support on projects, producing designs and specifications for various infrastructure projects.ResponsibilitiesTakes part in providing local technical design and CADD support on projects to produce designs and specifications to be used for planning, transportation, infrastructure, and technical services business linesTasks may include generating CADD designs on various assigned aspects of projects of basic to moderate scale and/or complexityGenerates accurate and concise design phase deliverables including reports, technical memoranda, design manuals, plans and profiles, models, sections, details, specifications, and material listsEnsures that responsibilities are delivered and adhered to with a level of quality that meets or exceeds acceptable industry standards for design, accuracy, and functionalityUnder direct supervision, use 3D computer-aided design and drafting (CADD) software to assist with basic design details and prepare drawings which require a high degree of precisionExercise responsible and ethical decision-making regarding company funds, resources, and conduct, and adhere to WSP’s Code of Conduct and related policies and proceduresPerform additional responsibilities as required by business needsSkillsHigh school Diploma0-2 years of experienceCandidate must have strong experience in AutoCAD Civil 3D, 2018 or newerWilling and able to self-check own work for completeness and accuracyProven track record of upholding workplace safety and ability to abide by WSP's health, safety and drug/alcohol and harassment policiesAssociate's degreeExperience with creating alignments, profiles, surfaces and pipe networks in AutoCAD Civil 3D, 2018 or newerWorking knowledge of survey coordinate systemsExperience interpreting surveysExperience with MicroStationStrong written and oral communications skillsWorking knowledge of Microsoft Word and ExcelBackground in mathematicsBenefitsCoverage related to medical, dental, vision, disability, and lifeRetirement savingsPaid sick leavePaid vacation (or other personal time)Paid parental leavePaid time off for purposes of bereavement, voting, and/or attendance at naturalization proceedingsCompany OverviewWhat if you could shape built and natural environments – and the future of those that use them?
