DOD SkillBridge Field Inspector Internship

Come gain industry experience and credentials that will grow your knowledge of the property insurance industry and open the doors to being a Roofing Contractor running your own company, a property insurance desk adjuster, or staying with Seek Now as a Field Inspector and joining a cadre of inspectors where 33% are... prior service veterans.
Position Summary:
Seek Now recognizes and values the unique skills, dedication, and discipline that military veterans bring to the workforce. Our inspectors have a drive to assist our clients, and theirs, with amazing customer service.
Our development program - Seek Now DRIVE Academy - empowers you to take on any type of inspection we offer. Our standard internship is 90-days. However, we also offer flexible timelines with a minimum 60-day internship and a max of 180-days. In your internship, you'll earn the industry-recognized Haag Engineering Certified Inspector - Residential certification and two additional certificates in Roofing/Estimating and Property Insurance Desk Adjusting Claims Handling.
Essential Functions and Duties:
Ability and willingness to access and inspect steep and/or high roofs
Lift, carry, and set up ladders and other equipment up to 100 pounds
Sketch and measure roof and/or room components
Scope the area of different sized and shaped roofs, rooms, and other inspection areas
Perform accurate, impartial, and complete roof inspections, which includes but is not limited to identification of roof age, leaks, deterioration, hail damage, wind damage, and previous repairs
Perform accurate and high-quality home and commercial property inspections
Maintain professional and safety standards as required
Complete all aspects of job assignments as defined

Knowledge, Skills, & Experience:
Skilled in both verbal and written communication
Ability to use a laptop and a smartphone, which includes navigating between applications, entering data, and using Microsoft Office products
Ability to submit complete, quality reports on time
Skilled in customer service
Skilled in organization and prioritization
Ability to be a self-starter and a quick learner
Other Requirements:
Clean, reliable truck, van, or SUV with a Ladder Rack Installed
Operational smartphone
Professional appearance
Valid driver's license
Work Environment:
Mostly outdoor for external inspections of property
Occasional indoor inspections of property
Hundreds of locations across the US are available, and/or stay local depending on your commander's approval/requirements
Physical Demands:
Must be able to stand and/or walk for long periods of time
Must be able to kneel, squat, or bend
Must be able to work outdoors in hot and cold weather conditions
Must be able to climb, crawl, stoop, reach, and work overhead
Must be able to lift, carry, push, and pull, up to 100 pounds
Must have continual use of manual dexterity in both hands
Must be able to routinely use standard office equipment such as computers and phones

Timeline of Activities:
Week 1: Immersion with Seek Now, its staff, and our onboarding development - Located in Louisville with lodging and travel provided
Your next two weeks: Complete ride-along training and practice with an experienced mentor - Located in an agreed upon location that corresponds with Service Member's Desired Location and Seek Now Needs with lodging provided as needed
Out in the field: Complete inspections in your assigned area working to achieve a minimum of 100 roofs inspected - Same location as weeks 2-3
Your second to last week: Combination of Field Inspections and Haag Engineering Certified Inspector Course and Exam - In the same location
Your last week : Complete your Roofing Contracting, Estimating, and Desk Adjusting courses - Located in Louisville with lodging and travel provided
