Distribution Clerk
About the position
As a Distribution Clerk at VSP Vision, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the efficient processing of deliveries to our store location. Under general supervision, you will be responsible for opening and unpacking shipments of glasses and contacts received from the manufacturing laboratory. Your attention to detail will be essential as you verify completed jobs received and take all necessary steps in preparation for distribution to our customers and patients in a timely manner. This position is vital in maintaining the high level of customer service and quality eyewear that we are known for in the central Florida community. Your daily tasks will include receiving incoming deliveries of glasses and contacts, opening and unpacking all shipments, and completing the intake process. This process involves examining the glasses and contacts for any damage, verifying prescriptions, and ensuring that patient information matches the initial order request for accuracy. You will also be responsible for matching order job orders with invoices and packing slips to confirm proper size, quantity, color, style, and prescription. Additionally, you will clean the products to remove any production material residue, dust, or fingerprints before tray up the completed jobs and placing them in the appropriate bins or locations. You will also run various reports, such as On-Hold Jobs, Audit Reports, and Work in Progress (WIP) Reports, to keep track of inventory and ensure smooth operations. This role may require you to perform other functions as needed, contributing to the overall efficiency of the distribution process. The position is part-time and may require overtime and weekend hours as necessary.
Responsibilities
Receive daily incoming delivery of glasses and contacts to the store

Open and unpack all shipments received
,
Complete intake/neutralizing intake process which includes examining glasses and contacts, examining for any damage, verifying prescription, verifying patient information, and validating with initial order request for accuracy
,
Match order job orders, invoices and packing slips for proper size, quantity, color, style, prescription, etc.
,
Clean up the product and remove any production material residue, dust, fingerprints, etc.
,
Tray up the received completed jobs and place in proper bin/location
,
Run various reports such as but not limited to: On-Hold Jobs, Audit Reports, Work in Progress (WIP) Reports, etc.

Perform all other functions as required
Requirements
Previous distribution center or shipping experience is preferred
,
Basic computer skills preferred
,
Must be detail-oriented, accurate, and able to multitask
,
Must be able to work accurately and safely under pressure
,
Ability to lift boxes and packages up to 10 lbs
,
Ability to walk, sit, bend, and overreach to manage orders/shipments
Nice-to-haves
Experience as an Optician with an active Florida License

Bilingual English and Spanish
