Job Summary:
Processing and organizing freight are amongst the responsibilities attributed to the Distribution Center Worker, who plays a crucial role in ensuring the punctual and secure delivery of goods to Dollar General stores.
Key Responsibilities:
The efficient and secure transfer of goods from delivery trucks to the storage area necessitates the unpacking team's careful handling and classification of the items.
Verify the correct placement and security of freight while loading trucks designated for Dollar General stores.
Handle warehouse machinery, including hand trucks, pallet jacks, and forklifts, using efficient and safe methods.
Verify the freight in order to assure the precision of the handling and distribution of products.
A clean and well-organized workspace is crucial to ensuring safety protocols are maintained.
Improve inventory accuracy by conducting frequent cycle counts and promptly reporting any discrepancies found.
Working together in a team to meet productivity targets and deadlines is paramount to success.
Qualifications:
Knowledge and Skills:
Proficient understanding of the equipment and processes involved in warehouse operation is a prerequisite for successful logistics management.
Capability to maneuver forklifts and other material transport mechanisms is a preferred ability (orientation may be provided).
Maintaining a high level of accuracy and attention to detail in freight handling.
Skilled in effective communication and the capacity to operate harmoniously within a group.
Being able to maintain physical stamina and move weighty materials (up to 75 pounds) is a must-have.
Work Experience and/or Education:
Consideration is given to individuals who have completed high school or an equal qualification.
An individual with a work background in a warehouse or distribution center setting is preferred, but those without experience will also be considered.
Working Conditions:
Being on your feet, walking and carrying heavy objects are common requirements of the job.
Standard upkeep of freight and warehouse devices.
A rapid-paced environment with an emphasis on adhering to productivity and safety standards.
Depending on the work location and weather patterns, one may be exposed to different temperatures.
Tasks in this job might entail operating in an uproarious atmosphere with the presence of loud equipment.
