Distinguished Architects at Verizon Business are technical experts helping develop impactful solutions for our most important clients. This role will provide technical and organizational leadership for our Wavelength and Dark Fiber offerings under the umbrella of AI Connect. The successful candidate will: Maintain expertise in optical networking technology. Maintain a current understanding of client needs, market dynamics and regulatory environments. Develop a deep understanding of the Verizon optical portfolio. Design optical networking solutions for our clients. Help Verizon sales team effectively position our capabilities and solutions. Provide a “voice of the customer” perspective to our Product and Networking teams, shaping our roadmap strategy. Create and maintain standard design guidelines for our optical networking solutions. Lead a team of Principal Architects with optical networking expertise. What we’re looking for... You’ll need to have: Bachelor’s degree or four or more years of work experience. Eight or more years of relevant experience required, demonstrated through one or a combination of work and/or military experience, or specialized training. Expert knowledge of optical transport technology. Product and partner management experience. Outstanding cross-functional and team leadership skills. Demonstrated ability to lead high visibility, high impact projects under pressure with initiative and minimal supervision. Ability to create short and long-term strategies. Demonstrate strategic and analytical capabilities and the ability to analyze data to make appropriate process/business decisions/recommendations and shape business strategy. Even better if you have one or more of the following: A degree in IT, information systems, or engineering. Outstanding written and verbal communication skills. Be results-oriented, have a strong sense of urgency, be proactive and flexible. Where you’ll be working In this hybrid role, you'll have a defined work location that includes working from home and a minimum of three days per week in the office, which will be set by your manager. The salary will vary depending on your location and confirmed job-related skills and experience. This is an incentive based position with the potential to earn more. For part-time roles, your compensation will be adjusted to reflect your hours. The annual salary range for the location(s) listed on this job requisition based on a full-time schedule is: $155,000.00 - $270,000.00.
