Dispatch Specialist
Job Summary
We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Dispatcher to join our logistics team. The Dispatcher will play a crucial role in coordinating transportation activities, ensuring timely delivery of goods, and maintaining effective communication between drivers, clients, and warehouse personnel. The ideal candidate will possess strong analytical skills and be adept at utilizing various transportation management systems to optimize operations.
Responsibilities
ā¢ Coordinate and schedule shipments using GPS and GIS technologies to ensure efficient routing.
ā¢ Communicate effectively with drivers to provide updates on delivery schedules and address any issues that may arise.
ā¢ Analyze transportation data to identify trends, improve efficiency, and enhance service quality.
ā¢ Manage shipping and receiving processes, ensuring all documentation is accurate and complete.
ā¢ Utilize SyteLine and other transportation management systems for tracking shipments and maintaining records.
ā¢ Implement transportation planning strategies to optimize resource allocation and reduce costs.
ā¢ Maintain a high level of phone etiquette while interacting with clients, drivers, and other stakeholders.
Qualifications
ā¢ Proven experience in a dispatch or logistics role is preferred.
ā¢ Familiarity with 3PL (third-party logistics) operations is a plus.
ā¢ Strong analytical skills with the ability to assess data for decision-making purposes.
ā¢ Proficiency in using GPS, GIS, and various transportation management systems.
ā¢ Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
ā¢ Ability to work effectively under pressure while managing multiple tasks simultaneously.
ā¢ Strong organizational skills with attention to detail.
