Disaster Recovery Specialist
ResponsibilitiesBusiness Continuity PlanningDevelop, implement, and maintain the Business Continuity Management framework aligned with ISO 22301 and industry best practicesConduct Business Impact Analysis to identify critical processes, dependencies, RTO, and RPO requirementsWork with business stakeholders to develop and maintain Business Continuity PlansReview and update BCP documentation periodicallyFacilitate tabletop exercises and simulation drillsDisaster RecoveryDesign and maintain IT Disaster Recovery strategies covering infrastructure, applications, cloud, and data environmentsEnsure DR plans meet defined RTO and RPO targetsCoordinate and execute DR tests, failover and failback exercisesDocument test results, track gaps, and drive remediation effortsWork closely with infrastructure, application, and cloud teams to enhance resilienceRisk Assessment and ComplianceConduct risk assessments related to operational disruptionsEnsure compliance with regulatory and industry requirements such as ISO 22301, ISO 27001, PCI DSS or other relevant standardsSupport internal and external audits related to BCM and DRMaintain evidence and documentation for compliance purposesStakeholder Management and ReportingEngage with business units and IT teams to embed resilience practicesProvide regular reporting on BCP and DR posture, test results, and risk statusSupport senior leadership during crisis situationsParticipate in incident response and crisis management activitiesMinimum Requirements:⢠Bachelorâs degree in information technology, Computer Science, Risk Management, or related field8 to 10 years of experience in Business Continuity and Disaster Recovery⢠Strong understanding of RTO, RPO, BIA, risk assessments, and crisis management⢠Experience with DR in cloud environments such as AWS, Azure, or GCP⢠Familiarity with virtualization, backup technologies, and high availability architectures⢠Hands-on experience in conducting DR drills and BCP exercises⢠Good understanding of regulatory and compliance frameworksPreferred RequirementsCBCP, ISO 22301 Lead Implementer or Lead AuditorCISA, CRISC, CISSP, or equivalent certificationsITIL FoundationKey SkillsStrong analytical and documentation skillsExcellent communication and stakeholder engagement skillsAbility to work under pressure during crisis situationsStructured and process-driven mindsetExperience in enterprise or global environments preferredBehavioural CompetenciesHigh ownership and accountabilityStrong coordination and collaboration skillsAbility to influence cross-functional teamsCalm and composed decision-making during incidents QualificationsBachelorâs degree in information technology, Computer Science, Risk Management, or related field8 to 10 years of experience in Business Continuity and Disaster Recovery
