About the role: As a Director, Systems Engineering you will drive technical excellence and strategic alignment across pre-sales initiatives. This role combines team leadership, solution architecture, and partner engagement to deliver high-impact customer outcomes. You’ll guide a diverse team of Systems Engineers in delivering compelling product demonstrations, developing tailored solutions, and supporting sales campaigns. With a strong focus on collaboration, mentorship, and technical strategy, you’ll foster relationships with key stakeholders, partners, and vendors to expand Veeam’s reach and ensure seamless solution delivery. Success in this role requires deep expertise in enterprise technologies, customer management, and data center operations, along with a passion for innovation and a commitment to driving business growth. What you will do: • Lead a team of account-focused Systems Engineers to deliver pre-sales technical support, including sales presentations, solution development, and product demonstrations of Veeam capabilities. • Maintain team excellence by attracting, developing, and retaining a diverse, motivated, and engaged group of Systems Engineers. • Ensure Systems Engineers effectively communicate a clear and consistent value proposition of Veeam solutions and products. • Drive continuous team development and training across industry trends, business acumen, and communication skills to enhance effectiveness. • Collaborate with Sales Leadership to meet technical pre-sales objectives and implement successful sales and technical campaigns. • Partner with Sales Leader peers to enhance organizational effectiveness and alignment. • Work cross-functionally with other Veeam teams to architect solutions that exceed customer expectations. • Foster collaboration across organizational lines and build strong relationships with customers, partners, and vendors to ensure successful solution implementations. • Cultivate relationships with key business influencers in strategic accounts, with a focus on growing Veeam’s channel ecosystem. • Evangelize Veeam technologies and solutions across target accounts. • Engage with customers, partners, and vendors to understand needs and expand the reach of Veeam’s industry-leading solutions. • Maintain competitive knowledge to effectively position and defend Veeam’s sales campaigns. • Support integration and relationship-building with third-party solution vendors to deliver seamless end-to-end solutions. • Execute company-wide initiatives that contribute to Veeam’s long-term success. • Lead the development of technical account strategies aligned with customer business goals; assign resources accordingly. • Assist in qualified partner opportunities to scale expertise and build partner capability. • Monitor and measure team progress against business plans, recommending adjustments as needed. • Ensure positive customer outcomes to drive loyalty to the Veeam brand. What you will Bring: • Demonstrated ability to lead teams in pre-sales engineering for storage manufacturers, enterprise solution development, process implementation, and data center operations. • Proven ability to influence and mentor others in a technology-focused environment. • Effective collaborator with a wide range of technical staff, both internally and within customer environments. • Comfortable working in a dynamic, fast-growing technical organization. • Deep understanding of customer management practices, sales support processes, and solution delivery. • Excellent communication skills—written, oral, and presentation—with the ability to influence across all functional lines. • Strong negotiation skills and professional presence in cross-functional engagements. • Broad exposure to diverse data center technologies and concepts; adept at managing complex heterogeneous system implementations. • Proven ability to contribute positively to consultative, multi-skilled teams involving customers and third-party vendors. • Strong customer service orientation, initiative, and a collaborative working style. • Capable of thriving in a fast-paced environment with continuous reprioritization while maintaining focus on driving Veeam success. • Willingness and ability to travel 50%–70% as needed. When making an offer of employment, Veeam will take into consideration the candidate’s expectations, experience, education, scope of responsibility for the role, and the current market demands.
