Director, Planning, Design & Construction (Administrator II)
Job Summary:
We are seeking an exceptional Director, Planning, Design & Construction (Administrator II) to join our team at California State University, Fullerton. As a key member of our Capital Programs and Facilities Management (CPFM) senior leadership team, you will oversee the planning, design, and construction of university facilities, ensuring a safe, sustainable, and high-quality learning and working environment for our campus community.
Responsibilities:
Provide strategic leadership and direction to the Planning, Design and Construction team
Oversee all construction on campus, including planning and design phases
Manage and monitor physical changes to university buildings and grounds
Develop and implement inclusive campus planning efforts
Interpret and enforce university, CSU, and state rules and regulations related to public works projects and building planning, design, and construction
Requirements:
Baccalaureate degree in architecture, engineering, or construction management
5+ years of management experience in planning, design, and construction management
Professional experience in architecture and/or construction management
Excellent organizational, analytical, and communication skills
Ability to work collaboratively with diverse stakeholders
Preferred Qualifications:
Possession of a California registration as an engineer or architect, or certification as a construction manager
Comprehensive knowledge of construction methods, practices, and procedures
Experience in arbitration and mediation for claims resolution
