Salary Range: $110,000 - 135,000
Term: 6 month contract

Summary:
The Director of People Operations is a strategic leader responsible for designing, implementing, and managing people strategies that align with the organization’s mission, values, and business objectives. This role oversees all aspects of human resources and employee experience, including total rewards, compliance, and organizational development. The Director of People Operations ensures a cohesive, innovative, and inclusive approach to managing and growing the organization’s most valuable asset: its people.

Roles and Responsibilities
• Develop and execute the organization’s people strategy in alignment with business goals and values.
• Serve as a trusted advisor to leadership on organizational design, workforce planning, and change management initiatives.
• Analyze workforce trends and people data to inform decision-making and future strategies.
• Manage compensation and benefits strategies to attract and retain top talent.
• Ensure compliance with labor laws, employment regulations, and organizational policies.
• Evaluate and update people operations processes to ensure efficiency and compliance.
• Optimize HR systems and processes to enhance organizational efficiency.
• Partner with other teams (e.g., Finance, IT) to ensure seamless integration of people operations initiatives.

Minimum Qualifications:
• Proven experience (4+ years) in human resources, people operations, or a related field, with 3+ years in a leadership role.
• Strong knowledge of HR practices, labor laws, and compliance standards.
• Experience designing and implementing scalable people operations strategies in a fast-paced environment.
• Proven track record in fostering an inclusive and equitable workplace culture.
• Demonstrated ability to lead through change and drive organizational improvements.
• Experience in nonprofit, mission-driven, or fast-growth organizations.
• Familiarity with HR systems (e.g., Culture Amp, Workday, ADP).
• Certifications such as SPHR, SHRM-SCP, or similar.
• Strategic thinking and problem-solving abilities.
• Excellent interpersonal, communication, and leadership skills.
• Data-driven mindset with experience using analytics to inform decision-making.
• Union experience is a plus but not required.

$110,000 - $135,000 a year
