About the role : As a Director of UX for theRoundel andMarTechteamyou’llserve a group of10designers and design managersresponsible forbothRoundelmediaandTargetMessagingguest experiencesandthead-tech and marketing techexperience strategy,humanand agentic workflows, andAI-driveninnovation. You are adept at using data to articulate your rationale, are a clear communicator, can explain recommendations with authority and openness, and are comfortableadvocating fordesign with partners and leaders. You have a demonstrated ability to build relationships and create impact through multiple levels of leadership including other Directors, Sr. Directors, and VPs and canmaintainboth drive and patience throughout the journey. As an experienced leader of people, you will coach, mentor, and guide a team of people leaders and ICs, helping them to grow and develop new skills, while increasing trust, transparency, and engagement. You have a demonstrated ability to strengthen both your own team and the overall UX organization and can thoughtfully scale your team with the right structures, roles, and responsibilities. You are comfortable leading through change and ambiguity and building a community of practice in a remote world. Responsibilities : • Define and drive experiencevision andstrategy for Roundel andMarTechMessaging • Develop roadmapsin partnership with cross-functional leaders andacrosscross-organizational priorities • Overseescalable,AI-poweredmulti-channelexperiencesand lifecycles,including newpersonalizedmediaandmessagingformats • OverseeAI-poweredend-to-endmarketing and ad-techplatformworkflows,includingCRM,CMS,campaignautomation,decisioning and bidding,andperformancemanagement • Define service blueprints and UX success metrics to baseline andoptimizebothsystemand experience outcomes, as well as enable AI-powered decision and agentic evolution • Prioritize acrossa multi-platform and multi-stakeholder roadmap, using designleadership and co-creationmethods tosurfaceopportunities andguidetradeoffs • Grow the team's ability to create high-quality, accessible, usable,AI-poweredexperiences that push Target forward • Evolve the organization composition, assembling teams to successfully deliver on cross-area missions • Support the growth of UX managers on the team through 1 : 1s, performance management, and other resources About you : • 10+ years of experience in UX / digital product design with a strong understanding of the craft of design • Foundational understanding of digital retailand ad-techbusinesses • 5+ years of experience in people leadership withdemonstratedexperience in hiring, leading, and coaching high performing, cross-geographyor remote teams. Experience managing teams of 15 or more a plus • Experience working in large, matrixed,globalor multi-national organizations a plus • Ability to balance short-term and long-term thinking while raising quality and team performance • Proactivelyidentifyand resolve issues that may impair the team from meeting strategic, business, or financial goals • Strong data-driven visual, verbal, and written story-telling skills with ability to bring partners along • Experience successfully managing many stakeholders through all phases of the design process This position may be considered for a Remote or Hybrid (known internally at Target as "Flex for Your Day") work arrangement based on Target's needs. A Remote work arrangement means the team member works full-time from home or an alternate location that's not a Target location, does not have a desk at a Target location and may travel to HQ up to 4 times a year. A Hybrid / Flex for Your Day work arrangement means the team member's core role may be performed either remote or onsite at a Target location depending upon what your role, team and tasks require for that day.
