About Our District

Minnesota Valley Education District is a forward-focused school district that values innovation, collaboration, and student-centered learning. Our district has recently undergone significant enhancements, including the addition of new classroom spaces, early learning expansions, health, safety, and security renovations, and state-of-the-art facilities such as engineering/robotics and science labs, an Ag/Tech Shop, and a performing arts center. We have successfully implemented various initiatives, including 1:1 Chromebook devices, personalized learning structures, secondary AVID, PBIS, and a strong emphasis on social/emotional learning and well-rounded education.

Job Summary

We are seeking a highly qualified and experienced Director of Teaching and Learning to lead our district's educational initiatives. This full-time position offers a flexible, hybrid remote arrangement, allowing for a healthy work-life balance. As the Director of Teaching and Learning, you will be responsible for driving educational excellence, fostering a culture of innovation, and ensuring that all students have access to high-quality learning experiences.

Key Responsibilities:


Develop and implement comprehensive teaching and learning strategies that align with our district's mission and vision.
Provide leadership and support to teachers and staff in the implementation of best practices in curriculum, instruction, and assessment.
Collaborate with school administrators and teachers to design and deliver professional development opportunities that enhance teaching and learning.
Analyze data and research to inform instructional decisions and drive continuous improvement.
Foster a culture of innovation and experimentation, encouraging teachers to try new approaches and technologies.
Develop and manage budgets, resources, and personnel related to teaching and learning.
Build partnerships with community organizations, businesses, and higher education institutions to support student learning and career readiness.
Communicate effectively with stakeholders, including parents, students, teachers, and the broader community.


Qualifications and Expectations

Essential Qualifications:


Four (4) years of successful teaching experience.
MDE Teaching License.
Knowledge of best practices in curriculum, teaching, learning, and instruction.
Understanding of Minnesota Academic Standards and associated assessments.
Experience with Response to Intervention Strategies.


Preferred Qualifications:


Cognitive Coaching Training/Experience.
Experience with technology integration to transform teaching and learning.
Background in implementing Tiered Systems of Support.
