MAA is currently accepting applications for the position of Director of Project Management (Administrator VII) within the Division of Airport Technology and Innovation at the Baltimore/Washington International Thurgood Marshall Airport (BWI Marshall Airport).
Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:
Leading the Project Management Office (PMO) and providing strategic and tactical direction to achieve the PMO mission and goals based on business objectives.
Leading and managing all PMO functional areas surrounding Project Manager support, talent management and professional development, portfolio management, strategic risk management, resource management, capacity planning, decision support, standardization, change management, quality management, compliance, audit, and review.
Overseeing and managing the project portfolio, portfolio planning, and maintenance, resource leveling, portfolio prioritization, progress reporting, identification of opportunities, and escalation of issues across the portfolio.
Employees in this position are designated “Emergency Essential” in the event of airport emergencies, weather emergencies, or irregularities and are subject to extended shifts and being on call during scheduled off hours, holidays, and weekends.
This position is located at the BWI Marshall Airport in Anne Arundel County, MD.
Qualifications
Preferred Qualifications:
Education:
Graduation from an accredited high school or possession of a high school equivalency certificate.
Experience:
Six (6) years of experience in administrative or professional work. Five (5) years of this experience must include leading projects, managing teams, and overseeing project life cycles. Two (2) years of this experience should have involved one or more of the following: managing the implementation, refresh, or upgrade of a technology system, implementing project management process improvements, serving as an information systems portfolio manager for an organization.
The ideal candidate will possess the following:
Certification(s) such as Project Management Professional (PMP), Certified Scrum Master (CSM), Prince2, or Agile Certified Practitioner (ACP)
Experience leading IT projects and overseeing IT project life cycles from inception to completion
Experience serving as an information systems portfolio manager
Project management process improvement experience
Great problem-solving skills
Proficiency in identifying and mitigating project risks
Experience in construction management or familiarity with construction processes
Notes:
Candidates may substitute 30 credit hours from an accredited college or university for each year up to four years of the required experience.
Candidates may substitute the possession of a Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university and two years of experience in administrative staff or professional work for the required experience.
Candidates may substitute the possession of a Master's degree from an accredited college or university and one year of experience in administrative staff or professional work for the required experience.
Candidates may substitute U.S. Armed Forces military service experience involving staff work related to the administration of rules, regulations, policies, procedures and processes, or overseeing or coordinating unit operations or functioning as a staff assistant to a higher ranking commissioned officer on a year-for-year basis for the required experience.
Licenses & Certifications
Employees in this classification may be assigned duties which require the operation of a motor vehicle. Employees assigned such duties will be required to possess a motor vehicle operator's license valid in the State of Maryland.
