This is a ground-floor opportunity at a company on a steep growth trajectory, with a product that sells itself to the right buyer — and a mission that gives the work real weight.What You'll OwnBuild and manage a pipeline of government sales opportunities at the federal, state, and municipal level — targeting agencies involved in disaster response, emergency housing, workforce development, and public infrastructureCultivate and maintain executive-level relationships with procurement officials, agency leads, and key government stakeholders across multiple jurisdictionsIdentify and qualify new opportunities, navigate procurement processes, and drive contracts from initial engagement through closeRepresent the organization at government industry events, conferences, and agency meetings — this role requires travel and presenceCollaborate cross-functionally with operations and leadership to ensure delivery commitments align with what's being soldContribute to longer-term strategy as the company scales toward additional government funding channels, including federal grants and public-sector financing programsRequirementsA proven track record of selling to government — you've navigated procurement cycles, built agency relationships, and closed contracts at the state and/or federal levelDeep familiarity with how government buyers buy: budget cycles, procurement requirements, contract vehicles, and how to stay in front of the right peopleThe instincts of a builder — you're energized by a blank-slate pipeline, not intimidated by itComfort operating in a startup environment where resources are lean, urgency is real, and your contributions are visibleStrong communication and relationship skills — you know how to earn trust with bureaucratic stakeholders without losing momentumCalifornia government relationships are a significant plus; experience with FEMA, HUD, or disaster relief procurement is highly relevantWillingness to travel as needed to cultivate and advance key opportunitiesBenefitsCompetitive base salary with flexible compensation structure — the organization is open to performance-based arrangements for the right candidateRemote flexibility with preference for candidates based in or willing to spend time in the Greater San Diego areaGround-floor equity potential at a company actively pursuing a public offering trajectoryThe chance to build something that matters — this organization's product is deployed in disaster zones, underserved communities, and workforce housing projects where it makes a direct differenceA leadership role that grows with the company — additional C-suite and senior hires are planned as the organization scalesThe compensation structure for this position is pending final client approval.
