Who We Seek:
We're looking for a Director of General Accounting to join our team. This individual will own the General Accounting function and month-end close process. As the Director, you'll be responsible for developing, executing, and managing the organization's month-end close process. You'll be empowered to develop new ideas, find new capabilities, and drive their implementation and integration within BigID. You'll also be responsible for insourcing the general accounting function and building out the team. Strong written and oral communication are required, along with the ability to work effectively with a variety of stakeholders. This role reports to the Global Controller.
We are looking for someone living on the East Coast, EST hours.

What you'll do:
Direct the general accounting functions for all BigID subsidiarires.
Prepare month-end reports, cash flow, and other financial results.
Formulate and administer approved accounting practices throughout the company to ensure accurate financial and operating reports, providing reliable information to leadership.
Lead the insourcing and build-out of the general accounting team.
Provide leadership, direction, coaching, and growth opportunities to the team, ensuring they perform their responsibilities in accordance with company policies and applicable employment laws.
Implement tools and systems to automate certain general accounting functions.
Assist in the preparation of the audited financial statements and footnote disclosures according to US GAAP.
Work with the Controller and finance senior management to plan, design, implement, and communicate a full range of accounting and finance policies and activities, aligning with the organization's strategic goals and legal requirements.
Serve as a key contact with internal and external auditors, reviewing revenue accounting assessments and managing annual audits.
What you'll bring:
Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance
10+ years of progressive experience, preferably with a mix of:
Big 4 accounting firm experience (preferably at the Senior Manager level)
SaaS high-growth environment
Multinational experience
Proven experience in general accounting, process improvements, and month-end close reporting, preferably in fast-growing technology companies.
Experience managing a global team.
Proven ability for technical accounting research and documentation of positions.
Excellent verbal, written, and listening skills, along with the ability to effectively use your accounting knowledge to collaborate, guide, and interact professionally with various personnel at multiple levels within the organization to drive sound business decisions.
Experience building and developing staff.
Experience with ERP systems (NetSuite) and related data across a global business.
Proficiency with Google Suite

The annual base salary range is $180,000 $200,000. Actual salaries will vary and are based on a candidates qualifications, skills, and competencies. Salary is just one component of our Compensation Philosophy. Variable/Bonus Compensation & Equity Incentives align with individual and company performance.
