Director of Engineering- Electrical

The Director of Engineering leads the electrical and mechanical engineering functions for switchboard products, overseeing design, development, testing, and execution from concept through production. Reporting to the COO, this role sets engineering strategy, drives innovation and continuous improvement, and ensures all products meet regulatory standards (UL, IEC, ANSI), safety requirements, customer specifications, and cost/performance targets. Key responsibilities include leading and mentoring cross-functional engineering teams, managing multiple large-scale projects, integrating electrical and mechanical designs, and collaborating closely with manufacturing, quality, suppliers, and customers. The role provides technical leadership to executive management, ensures compliance and product certification, optimizes engineering and manufacturing processes, and represents the company at industry and customer engagements. The ideal candidate brings 15+ years of switchboard or power distribution engineering experience, strong leadership and project management skills, deep knowledge of electrical and mechanical systems, proficiency with CAD and simulation tools, and experience with lean/process improvement methodologies.
