With the arrival of Amangati, our first luxury motor yacht, Aman expands beyond land, reshaping water exploration and spearheading a new era in maritime experiences.Director of Engineering - AmanpuloRoleWe are seeking a highly motivated and skilled Director of Engineering to lead our Engineering team. Reporting directly to the General Manager, you are responsible for the delivery of engineering services to the resort/hotel and ensuring ongoing compliance with all Aman standards and policies/procedures. They will implement Aman’s standards and brand objectives through a focus on engineering strategies and solutions.ResponsibilitiesProvide support to the wider resort/hotel executive team and operation through the delivery of a high quality, efficient and structured engineering serviceDay to day management of the engineering team including workload assessments, directing operations and ensuring adequate resources are available at all timesImplementation and ongoing adherence to a planned preventative maintenance programme for the resort/hotelEnsuring work orders for corrective maintenance and planned maintenance are completed to quality and time criteriaDevelopment and monitoring of OPEX plans to ensure adequate budget provision is made and value for money is obtainedDevelopment and updating of 5 year and annual CAPEX plans for the resort which should include a planned approach to asset replacement, development opportunities etc.Implementation of Aman Engineering standards for the resort/hotelMaintenance of a pro-active approach to ensuring all legal compliance requirements relating to engineering are met and that all certification is readily availableImplement and monitor compliance against Aman Fire Systems Preventative Maintenance Policy. Report and execute any remedial actions necessary to ensure systems are operational and provide effective protection.Appointment of external contractors as required and ongoing monitoring of performance and quality standards for services and worksArrange structural integrity surveys on a period or ad-hoc basis as required and ensure that any remedial actions are undertaken in a timely manner.Responsibility for maintenance of the resort/hotel maintenance management system (MMS)Development, implementation and monitoring of Health & Safety Standard Operating Procedures for the resort/hotelParticipate in any projects being planned/carried out within the resort/hotel and act as local liaison with Aman Technical Services as requiredProvision of regular and ad-hoc reports for resort/hotel management and submission of monthly snapshot report for Corporate EngineeringMonitoring energy and water management programs to ensure cost effective use of utilitiesQualificationsA degree in Electrical / Mechanical Engineering and/ or Building Management or 10 years' experience in a comparable position.Held position of Director/ Chief Engineer in a luxury hospitality environment. Preferable prerequisite is experience in the Hotel industry; however, a similar service-oriented industry will be consideredCould have previously held positions as Maintenance ManagerFluent in English (further languages desirable)Responsible self-starter, capable of handling multi-faceted projects and of working under pressure.Team player who values teamwork, has good team building skills and is able to communicate effectively with all levels of employees.Excellent analytical skills, a proactive problem solver.Personable and pleasant to deal with. Discreet, reliable, diplomatic.Understands and respects local culture, able to adapt to changing environment.Recognized as an authority in mechanical and electrical engineering.Experience in dispute, conflict resolution, negotiations & deal making Detailed knowledge of air conditioning, ventilation, refrigeration systems and related refrigerants, chilled/condenser water components.Proficiency in Computer Skills, particularly in the use of Property Management & Energy Management systems.Experience in preparing and managing annual maintenance budgets and assist in the preparation of the capital expenditure plans.Ensure the resorts comply with all government regulations pertaining to building code requirements, health, fire and life safety programsBenefits At Aman Group, we believe that our colleagues are at the core of our success.
