Director of Data Science (100% Remote, Anywhere in USA)
About the position Responsibilities • Recruit, develop, mentor and lead teams of data scientists to innovate automation and machine learning applications. • Design and lead Data Modeling practices and framework, developing and implementing complex models for financial and business decisions. • Own the entire Data Science strategy across GOBankingRates, prioritizing opportunities with the highest impact on company goals. • Continue to evolve and expand the EYE Platform to improve digital ad conversion and performance across company KPIs. • Translate analytical insights into actionable recommendations for business or product improvement, communicating clearly across all levels of the company. • Drive scalable solutions using available AWS infrastructure. • Create and track accuracy and performance metrics, both technical and business-related. • Create, enhance, and maintain technical documentation, presenting it to scientists, engineers, and business leaders. • Drive best practices on the team, mentoring junior members and fostering a culture of ownership, collaboration, and results. • Understand business priorities to leverage Data Science capabilities effectively. Requirements • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics, or a related quantitative discipline. • 5+ years of experience leading high-performing teams in advanced quantitative analyses and statistical modeling. • 5+ years of hands-on experience in data science, machine learning, and natural language processing (NLP). • Strong background in digital media marketing and developing methodologies to enhance digital advertising metrics. • Proficient in translating data analytics into business enhancements with excellent communication skills. • Experience driving scalable solutions using AWS infrastructure.
