Job Summary
As Director, Manufacturing Science and Technology, you will play a critical role in engaging with Contract Development and Manufacturing Organizations (CDMOs) to deliver processes that enable robust production of Drug Substance (DS) for monoclonal antibodies. This interdisciplinary position requires expertise across cell line, cell culture, purification, and formulations, including scale-up from lab to manufacturing scale. You will work closely with cross-functional partners to drive late-phase development and commercialization of biologics, and provide strategic guidance on process and economic modeling of DS manufacturing processes.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead late-stage development through launch/commercialization activities, focusing on biologics development and manufacturing
Engage with CDMOs to deliver processes that enable robust production of Drug Substance (DS) for monoclonal antibodies
Provide expertise across cell line, cell culture, purification, and formulations, including scale-up from lab to manufacturing scale
Collaborate with cross-functional partners, including clinical development/operations, analytical development, QA, RA, and supply chain
Develop and implement process and economic modeling of DS manufacturing processes
Communicate effectively with stakeholders, presenting complex technical information in a clear and concise manner
Travel up to 25% to CDMOs and other partner sites, as needed
Multi-task and keep pace with a fast-moving organization, prioritizing tasks and deadlines as needed
Participate in calls across multiple international time zones, as required
Requirements
Education and Experience:
BS, MS, or PhD in a relevant discipline (e.g., biology, biochemistry, biochemical engineering, or related field)
10+ years of experience in biologics development and manufacturing, with a focus on late-phase development and commercialization
Experience with tech transfer to CDMOs and supporting DS campaigns through scale-up and validation
Experience with process and economic modeling of DS manufacturing processes
Skills and Competencies:
Strong technical expertise in biologics development and manufacturing, with a focus on cell line, cell culture, purification, and formulations
Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to tailor messages to various stakeholders
Demonstrated ability to collaborate with cross-functional partners and build strong relationships
