Director - HSE and ESG Governance

About the position

As a Director - HSE and ESG Governance here at Honeywell, you will be instrumental in overseeing the development and implementation of robust governance frameworks that ensure compliance, drive sustainability, and promote a culture of safety and responsibility across the organization. You will collaborate with key stakeholders to integrate HSE and ESG considerations into corporate strategy and operations. You will report directly to our VP of Regulatory HSE and ESG and you’ll work out of our Phoenix, AZ location on a Hybrid work schedule.

Responsibilities
• Partner with internal stakeholders to develop and implement a comprehensive HSE and ESG governance strategy aligned with the organization’s mission and corporate objectives.
• Monitor changes in legislation and regulations to adapt policies and strategies accordingly
• Design and maintain governance frameworks for HSE and ESG that promote best practices and improve organizational performance.
• Establish metrics, reporting protocols, and accountability mechanisms to track HSE and ESG performance.
• Communicate and report on HSE performance, achievements, and challenges to stakeholder
• Stay abreast of industry trends, innovations, and best practices in HSE and ESG governance.
• Support M&A due diligence processes to evaluate potential HSE and ESG risks, identify any significant environmental liabilities, estimate the potential costs and provide recommendations for integration and risk mitigation
• Drive initiatives to enhance the organization’s sustainability performance and social responsibility efforts

Requirements
• Proven experience in leadership positions, demonstrating the ability to influence and drive change at all levels of the organization
• Strong understanding of HSE regulations and ESG practices, frameworks, and reporting standards
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and project management skills
• Due to compliance with U.S. export control laws and regulations, candidate must be a U.S. person, which is defined as, a U.S. citizen, a U.S. permanent resident, or have protected status in the U.S. under asylum or refugee status.

Nice-to-haves
• Bachelor’s Degree with a technical, business, sustainability, social sciences or EHS focus
• Experience leading governance and compliance programs in a management system framework
• Proficient in computer technology and Microsoft Office applications
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Lean or Six Sigma experience
