Position Summary:
As the We are seeking a hands-on Director of Commercial Technology (Salesforce), you will be a hands-on leader to build, optimization, and own the day-to-day execution of our Salesforce ecosystem. This role oversees architects, developers, administrators, product managers, analysts, and contractors responsible for delivering scalable solutions across Sales Cloud, Service Cloud, Marketing Cloud, and Data Cloud.
This is a player-coach leadership role. In addition to leading and developing the team, you will stay close to architecture decisions, complex integrations, and solution design to ensure high-quality execution.
You will lead the rebuild of our commercial engine, enabling new product launches and improving core lead-to-revenue workflows in close partnership with Sales, Marketing, Operations, and Product teams.
Position Responsibilities:
Team Leadership & Development
Lead, mentor, and develop a team of Salesforce architects, developers, administrators, product managers, analysts, and contractors.
Provide coaching, performance feedback, and career development planning.
Establish clear roles, accountability, and delivery standards across the team.
Build a culture of ownership, excellence, and continuous improvement.
Manage contractor scope, budgets, and delivery outcomes.
Hands-On Platform Execution
Lead the execution and continuous improvement of Salesforce:
Sales Cloud
Service Cloud
Marketing Cloud
Data Cloud (Customer 360)
Actively contributes to solution design, architecture reviews, and complex system decisions.
Guide teams to execute configuration, customization, integrations, and automation strategies.
Troubleshoot escalated technical issues and remove delivery roadblocks.
Oversee sprint planning, backlog prioritization, and release management.
Ensure high-quality documentation, testing, QA processes, and DevOps practices.
Commercial Engine Rebuild
Rebuild and optimize end-to-end lead-to-revenue processes, including:
Lead capture and routing
Opportunity management
Campaign tracking and attribution
Customer onboarding and service workflows
Enable new product launches with scalable workflows and system enhancements.
Drive automation to reduce manual effort and increase GTM efficiency.
Improve data quality, reporting reliability, and system adoption.
Integration & Architecture
Lead integrations between Salesforce and:
Product platforms
E-commerce systems
ERP / order management systems
Marketing automation tools
Data platforms and warehouses
Ensure scalable API architecture, clean data models, and secure system connectivity.
Partner with Product and Engineering teams to align platform capabilities with customer experience.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
8–12+ years of experience leading CRM or Salesforce delivery teams.
Deep expertise in:
Sales Cloud
Service Cloud
Marketing Cloud
Data Cloud (Data 360)
Experience integrating Salesforce with product platforms and e-commerce systems.
Strong understanding of API integrations, system architecture, and data modeling.
Prior hands-on development experience within Salesforce, including Apex and custom development.
Experience rebuilding or significantly enhancing lead-to-revenue systems.
Demonstrated success managing and developing high-performing technical teams.
Proven ability to operate as a player-coach — leading teams while staying engaged in architecture and execution.
Strong understanding of revenue operations processes, forecasting, and reporting.
Ability to balance speed of delivery with platform stability, governance, and scalability.
