Job Summary
As a Director, Artificial Intelligence & Data Science, you will oversee a team that implements data science and advanced analytics capabilities and platforms across WBA. You will play a key role in designing and implementing new or updated platforms to drive and realize WBA's data strategy. This position requires a strong and diverse skillset in relevant areas to drive success, including statistical modeling, data analysis, and technical expertise.
Key Responsibilities
Develop and implement data science and advanced analytics strategies: Utilize statistical modeling and other data science techniques for descriptive, diagnostic, predictive, and prescriptive analyses.
Lead cross-functional teams: Direct the development and delivery of statistical and mathematical analyses to support business decisions enterprise-wide or for multiple business functions.
Interpret and communicate complex data insights: Explain findings to business audiences to improve products and processes.
Set the vision for data manipulation and analysis: Determine leading-edge technical business approaches or develop major new technical tools.
Manage budgets and performance: Manage budgets, operational plans, and performance requirements for the specified area of responsibility.
Build and maintain key relationships: Establish and maintain key relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including peers, business partners, leadership, and vendors.
Essential Qualifications
Master's degree in a quantitative discipline: Statistics, data science, mathematics, economics, or a related field.
Deep knowledge of data science and statistics packages: Python, R, Spark, SQL, and other relevant tools.
Experience in data science and advanced analytics: At least 6 years of post-graduate professional work experience in a statistical function.
Leadership experience: At least 5 years of direct leadership, indirect leadership, or cross-functional team leadership.
Excellent communication and presentation skills: Ability to present findings to all levels of an organization, including the C-Suite level.
Preferred Qualifications
Graduate degree in a quantitative, computational, or technical discipline: Ph.D. or Master's degree in a related field.
Additional experience in healthcare or retail: Experience working in a healthcare or retail environment.
