Director, Accounting – Finance

Job Description: • Direct and oversee all aspects of the finance and accounting functions for a multi-entity organization. • Manage the organization's financial resources through strategic fiscal planning and financial reporting. • Sustain robust financial systems and internal controls to safeguard assets and ensure compliance. • Provide strategic financial guidance and support to the executive leadership team and department heads. • Lead the annual audit and 990 preparation process, serving as the primary liaison with external auditors. • Act as a strategic partner by developing and delivering forward-thinking financial reporting and dashboards. • Manage cash flow and forecasting; optimize the handling of banking relationships. • Maintain effective internal controls and compliance with GAAP and regulatory laws. • Manage intercompany transactions and cash settlements. • Prepare monthly financial statements and monitor financial performance against budget. Requirements: • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, CPA certification is strongly preferred. • 7+ years of progressive financial leadership roles, with at least 3-5 years in a multi-entity nonprofit environment, managing budgets over $10 million, and extensive experience with intercompany transactions. • Proven experience leading annual audits. • Proficiency with NetSuite accounting software. • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to translate complex financial information for all levels of comprehension. • Commitment to Equity: A demonstrated commitment to advancing educational equity and excellence for all students.
