Writer - Digital Creative and Project Solutions (CAPS) is the in-house creative agency supporting consumer-focused marketing for multiple brands within Strategic Education, Inc.'s portfolio. Fueled by a growth mindset, the CAPS team drives creative strategy, executes effectively on project initiatives, and creates impactful marketing solutions.

The Writer - Digital takes a lead role in messaging for our web properties. A relentless advocate for a clear and consistent voice, this role collaborates with several different groups and works on a fast-paced and creative team of product managers, developers and designers across platforms, channels and devices to help create an integrated experience that drives deep satisfaction while supporting business outcomes. The ideal candidate will have a passion for writing and a strong portfolio of work in these formats:
• Websites and landing pages
• Blogs
• Mobile apps
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
• Write fresh, innovative, original copy - in a variety of formats - that delivers results.
• Apply audience segmentation and other research findings, as well as brand/tone voice, to speak to different audiences.
• Understand and apply accessibility guidelines and write for specific grade level.
• Understand the subtle nuances of the creative process between content strategy, copy and UX design, with familiarity working in an Agile environment.
• Use content strategy to shape copy, design and the overall customer experience.
• Develop concepts/big ideas, in addition to executing against established concepts.
• Deliver creative rationale, and confidently present and defend work.
• Work well/collaborate with other business partners, at all levels, across the organization.
• Remain calm, focused and detail-oriented in a fast-paced, deadline-oriented environment, efficiently juggling many projects simultaneously.
Job Skills
• Writing "from scratch"- creating a wholly original piece of work (rather than editing). • Strong verbal communication.
• Strong editing skills
• Ability to research (when needed).
• Ability to deliver creative rationale, and confidently present and defend work.
• Quick study - ability to absorb information and feedback quickly and apply to new projects.
• Good understanding of the fundamentals of marketing.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite.
• Familiarity with AP Style.
• Strong understanding of design, UI and/or UX best practices a plus.
Work Experience
3-6 years of writing experience with a strong portfolio in web/digital media. Familiarity with working on a geographically distributed/hybrid team.
