To excel as a Contract Desktop Technician Consultant at TMG Global, candidates should possess a strong foundation in information technology, ideally holding an associate or bachelor's degree in IT, Computer Science, or a related field. A CompTIA A+ Certification (or equivalent) is strongly recommended, along with additional certifications such as CompTIA Network+, Microsoft Certified: Modern Desktop Administrator Associate, or ITIL Foundation, which are advantageous. Successful applicants will demonstrate hands-on training in hardware troubleshooting, operating systems, and networking fundamentals, enabling them to confidently deploy and maintain desktops and laptops.
Excellent problem-solving abilities, communication skills, and a collaborative mindset are essential to thrive in this dynamic role. Familiarity with technical documentation and the ability to track assets effectively will further support your success in providing top-notch end-user support and contributing to the overall excellence of our IT operations
Knowledge and skills required for the position are:
• Associate or bachelor's degree in information technology, Computer Science or a related field (preferred)
• CompTIA A+ Certification (or equivalent) strongly recommended
• Minimum of 3-5 years of hands-on experience in desktop support, end-user device deployment, and technical troubleshooting in a professional IT environment.
• Additional certifications such as CompTIA Network+ Microsoft Certified: Modern Desktop Administrator Associate or ITIL Foundation are a plus
• Hands-on training in hardware troubleshooting operating systems and networking fundamentals
• Must have reliable transportation to travel to client or project sites as needed.
This is a 3-month contract role that will require on-site work in Hershey, PA to start. Candidates must have access to a reliable personal vehicle. When not assigned to a job site, there may be opportunities to work remotely. A personal laptop capable of supporting remote work and communication tools is required for this position.
All candidates must successfully complete a background screening process prior to starting. This includes a General Services Administration (GSA) and Office of Inspector General (OIG) Excluded Parties Check, as well as a seven-year criminal history check covering both felony and misdemeanor records. For roles involving work in patient care or clinical environments, additional clearances are required: a Pennsylvania State Police Criminal Records Check (PATCH), Pennsylvania Child Abuse History Clearance, and a Federal Criminal Records Check issued by the Pennsylvania Department of Human Services, which includes FBI fingerprinting. A 10-panel drug screen, including THC, is also required.
