About the position Responsibilities • Design and develop Swim and beachwear collections that resonate with our target audience. • Collaborate closely with designers, buyers, merchandisers, and technical teams to ensure alignment with brand strategy and market demands. • Design ranges that align with the option plan, budget, and store presentation guidelines. • Generate creative and commercial concepts that reflect current trends, the Hunkemöller DNA, and market preferences. • Craft a consumer and brand-right narrative through product design, color, and materials based on close-to-market trends and opportunities. • Design the collections based on fashion concepts & colours within the HKM DNA • Visualize the designed collections with Illustrator • Have end-to-end involvement in the Design process; starting with inspirational shopping trips, to preparing trend presentations and then working closely with the buying & technical department to develop the total collection Requirements • At least 3 years of design experience, preferably in Swim and Beachwear • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Fashion Design. • A deep connection and understanding of the Hunkemöller DNA, characterized by a feminine, modern, and commercial handwriting. • Strong aesthetic sensibility with an ability to identify and interpret fashion trends. • Proficiency in textiles, fabrics, and material development.. • Experience and proficiency in allover print design and placement prints. • Proficiency in design software such as Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, and InDesign. • Demonstrated ability to conceptualize creative fashion concepts and collections with a distinct point of view for Womens Swim and Beachwear in the European Market. • Solid technical garment construction knowledge with a keen attention to quality and detail. • Excellent communication skills with the ability to effectively articulate design concepts and visions. • Strong presentation skills with the ability to convey ideas convincingly during meetings and presentations. • Knowledge of the fashion industry and collection development process. • Proficient in design skills such as drawing/sketching, ideation, color theory, and visual presentation development. • Flexibility and adaptability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment with evolving priorities and timelines. • Proficient in English, both spoken and written, as our headquarters operate in an international and English-speaking environment. • You’re a talented designer with a min of 2-5 years’ experience, preferably in women's Swimwear or (sporty & functional) women's apparel • You’ve completed a Bachelor’s degree related to Fashion Design • You’re fluent in English –speaking and writing- • You’re experienced in Illustrator, Photoshop and additional In Design • Your handwriting is fashion forward and you’re able to translate this into commercial, feminine designs • You love fashion and have a great eye for colours, prints and building a collection • As a true team player, you’re hands-on and able to work both independent and to our deadlines Nice-to-haves • Experience in 3D programs like Clo3D or Browzwear is a plus. • Experience in designing accessories (e.g., footwear, beauty accessories) is advantageous.
