Designer for Coworking Space

We’re looking for a junior/experienced interior designer (with coworking space or office experience) to help transform our coworking space into a warm, functional coworking environment. The space currently has an industrial feel, welcoming design that supports both focused work and casual collaboration.

The space has the main pieces such as desks and equipment but needs artwork, paint, etc. We're a non-profit so our budget is limited. Ideally candidates in the US due to providing a list of products to purchase but OK with int'l candidates as long as US products are provided.

Scope of Work:

• Evaluate the existing layout and identify opportunities for improvements

• Develop a flexible floor plan that accommodates hot desks, lounge seating, and quiet work zones

• Create a mood board and design direction aligned with our brand and goals (biophilic, calm, inspiring)

• Recommend furnishings, lighting, rugs, and spatial dividers

• Incorporate sound management strategies and lighting improvements

• Suggest styling touches (plants, art, finishes) to create a cozy, vibrant feel

• Provide source list and purchasing guidance (within our budget)

Deliverables:

• Floor plan/layout options

• Mood board and design concept

• Furniture/decor recommendations with sourcing links

• Final presentation or design deck (PDF or slides)

Requirements:

• Proven experience designing coworking or office spaces

• Strong understanding of functional space planning and flow

• Portfolio demonstrating a thoughtful, modern aesthetic

• Ability to work within our budget and timeline

• Excellent communication and presentation skills
