ABOUT THE ROLEWe are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented experienced Fashion Designer to join our Lingerie / Bags and Accessories design team. The ideal candidate will demonstrate a strong aesthetic sensibility, a proactive mindset, and a deep passion for elevated design. Contract type - This position is a Permanent contract.Working pattern/flexible working - The Partnership has adopted a hybrid working approach, meaning you'll be able to work a mixture between the office and home based upon your personal needs whilst balancing the needs of the business. The expectation is for three in-person days per week, which can include your time spent on store visits and meeting brands / suppliers. For Fashion Design this is generally Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday.Location - This role is based at our Pimlico Head Office. Travel may be required to Europe or the Far East Key responsibilitiesWe are looking for an experienced designer with an innate sense of taste, a refined eye for detail, and a strong desire to grow within a premium brand environment. You bring energy, ambition, and originality to everything you do, with a clear passion for design excellence and modern luxury.Support the design team in the development of seasonal collections that align with our premium brand identity.Guide and mentor and task manage Level 9 designers.Produce commercial and innovative design solutions to briefs.Conduct trend research, fabric sourcing, and concept development with a sophisticated point of view.Prepare mood boards, sketches, and technical packages for internal and external communication.Utilize 3D design software (CLO3D) to create high-quality digital prototypes and visualize garment construction with precision and finesse.Collaborate closely with pattern makers, technical developers, and production teams to ensure flawless execution of designs.Happy to present and share ideas back to the group. Participate in fittings, revisions, and sampling to maintain the highest level of product integrity.Stay informed on emerging trends, luxury materials, and innovative design techniques relevant to the premium fashion space.Essential skills/experience you’ll need Experience designing Bags and AccessoriesDegree in Fashion Design or a closely related field.Proficient in CLO3D or similar 3D garment design software.Expertly demonstrate the ability to translate design concepts into production-ready sketches and technical specifications, using technology (e.g. Adobe) to achieve this.Excellent understanding of premium brand aesthetics, fabrications, and finishing details.A good knowledge of pattern making, sewing, and garment construction or other relevant technical experience as well as an understanding of textiles and materials.Ability to thrive in a collaborative, fast-paced, and creatively demanding environment.Desirable skills you may haveExperience designing Footwear and small leather goods.Closing Date:July 12, 2025Pay:£33,000.00 - £51,700.00 AnnualContract Type:PermanentHours of Work:Monday - Friday 9:00 - 5:30Job Level:Partnership Level 8Where You'll Be Working:London Central Office, 1 Drummond Gate, London, , SW1V 2QQABOUT THE PARTNERSHIPWe’re the largest employee owned business in the UK and home of our cherished brands, John Lewis and Waitrose.
