Job Summary:
The successful candidate will be an integral part of a large, well-known logistics company such as J.B. Hunt, Schneider, or Swift Transportation. This is a full-time position, offering a competitive salary on an hourly basis. Working hours are standard, but flexibility is required to meet the demands of our clients. Job Description:
We are in search of a dedicated Regional Flatbed Driver to join our dynamic team. You will be responsible for driving and operating trucks with a capacity of at least 26,000 pounds Gross Vehicle Weight (GVW). Your role includes transporting goods from the distribution center to the client’s desired location, maintaining a professional relationship with clients, and ensuring the safety and timely delivery of goods.
Responsibilities:
– Loading and unloading cargo
– Inspecting vehicles for mechanical items and safety issues, and perform preventative maintenance
– Planning routes and meeting delivery schedules
– Documenting and log work/rest periods and miles spent driving and retain fuel/toll receipts
– Complying with truck driving rules and regulations (size, weight, route designations, parking, and break periods) as well as with company policies and procedures
– Maneuvering trucks into loading or unloading positions
– Reporting defects, accidents, or violations
Requirements:
– Proven work experience as a truck driver
– Hands-on experience with electronic equipment and software (GPS, AVL units, CB, etc)
– Extensive knowledge of applicable truck driving rules and regulations
– No driving violations
– Ability to drive long hours and travel regularly
– Adaptability and foresight to handle unexpected situations (traffic, weather conditions, etc)
– Valid truck driving license
Educational Qualifications:
– High school diploma
