About the Role We are seeking a talented and dedicated Elementary School Teacher, 5th Grade, to join our team at United Preparatory Academy - East. As a key member of our educational team, you will play a critical role in supporting the academic and social-emotional growth of our students. You will work closely with colleagues and school leaders to develop and internalize rigorous, aligned curriculum, establish and maintain a joyful classroom and grade-level culture, and communicate student progress consistently with families to establish authentic partnerships between school and home. Key Responsibilities Develop and implement rigorous, aligned curriculum that meets the needs of all learners Establish and maintain a joyful classroom and grade-level culture that promotes social-emotional growth and academic achievement Communicate student progress consistently with families to establish authentic partnerships between school and home Collaborate with colleagues and school leaders to use data intelligently to drive improvement efforts and implement frequent feedback to grow as an educator Design systems that support the needs of all learners, including students with diverse learning needs and abilities Essential Qualifications To be successful in this role, you will need to possess the following essential qualifications: A Bachelor's degree in Education or a related field The ability to secure the appropriate teaching license Prior experience working in urban schools and/or communities (preferred) A strong commitment to using data-driven instructional practices and the techniques outlined in Teach Like a Champion 3.0 to improve student outcomes Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to communicate effectively with students, families, and colleagues Comfortability with Google products for effective communication and completion of job responsibilities Preferred Qualifications While not required, the following preferred qualifications will be considered an asset: Master's degree in Education or a related field Experience working with students with diverse learning needs and abilities Knowledge of and experience with project-based learning, personalized learning, and other innovative educational approaches Bilingual or multilingual skills, with the ability to communicate with students and families in multiple languages Skills and Competencies To be successful in this role, you will need to possess the following skills and competencies: Strong instructional skills, with the ability to design and deliver rigorous, aligned curriculum Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to communicate effectively with students, families, and colleagues Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple responsibilities Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team, with a strong focus on teamwork and collaboration Strong problem-solving and analytical skills, with the ability to use data to inform instruction and drive improvement efforts Career Growth Opportunities and Learning Benefits At United Schools Network, we are committed to supporting the professional growth and development of our teachers.
