As a Permanent Teacher Aide - Special Education, you will be working with Knox County Schools, where you will have the opportunity to work with a diverse group of students and make a real difference in their educational journey. Job Description Supporting students with special needs during day-to-day activities, such as lessons, projects, and assignments Assisting the teacher with classroom management and supervision of students, maintaining a safe and inclusive learning environment Helping with the set-up and preparation of classroom equipment, materials, and activities, ensuring that everything is ready for lessons and projects Supervising students during classroom, schoolyard, hallway, field trips, and other programs, ensuring their safety and well-being at all times Qualifications To be successful in this role, you will need to possess a minimum of a GED or High School Diploma and be proficient in English (speaking, reading, and writing). You will also need to have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with students, teachers, and other staff members. If you have experience working in special education or a related field, that would be a definite advantage, but it is not essential.
