Job SummaryThe Director, RFID plays a critical role in advancing the organization’s RFID capabilities by contributing to the RFID roadmap, evaluating emerging technologies, and ensuring successful delivery of RFID solutions. This position bridges technical expertise and business objectives, focusing on solution design, vendor evaluation, and cross-functional collaboration to drive scalable, future-ready implementations. Key Performance Indicators (KPIs): Successful evaluation and onboarding of RFID technologies. Delivery quality and adherence to standards. Reduction in critical issue escalations. Contribution to roadmap milestones and innovation initiatives. Partner ecosystem growth and integration successReporting RelationshipsReports to: VP, Enterprise Architecture Non-supervisory positionPrimary Job ResponsibilitiesTechnology Evaluation & Standards Act as a key contributor to the RFID roadmap and execution framework. Research, assess, and recommend RFID hardware and software platforms for integration. Define and maintain solution standards and best practices for RFID delivery. Stay current on adjacent technologies such as IoT, mobile computing, and vision systems to ensure interoperability and scalability. Solution Architecture & Delivery Collaborate with engineering and operations teams to design RFID solutions aligned with business requirements. Provide technical guidance on complex or strategic implementations. Oversee execution of RFID projects, ensuring quality, scalability, and customer satisfaction. Establish and track success metrics for delivery performance and continuous improvement. Partnership & Ecosystem Development Build and maintain relationships with technology partners and OEM vendors. Evaluate third-party solutions for compatibility and strategic fit. Support integration planning with major enterprise platforms (e.g., ERP systems such as SAP, Oracle, Infor). Cross-Functional Collaboration Work closely with internal teams including sales, product management, and customer support to ensure alignment on RFID initiatives. Contribute to Centers of Excellence and innovation programs focused on RFID and related technologies. Post-Sales Support & Continuous Improvement Analyze support trends and feedback to improve solution design and implementation standards. Identify internal and external training needs; assist in training delivery as needed.
Requirements
Job Competencies, Skills & ExperienceRequiredExperience: 3+ years in RFID solution design, implementation, or technology evaluation. Technical Acumen: Strong understanding of RFID technologies, standards, hardware, software platforms, and integration methods. Analytical Thinking: Ability to assess technology fit, ROI, and scalability for enterprise deployments. Communication Skills: Excellent verbal, written, and presentation skills for technical and business audiences. Project Management: Proven ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously. Relationship Management: Skilled in building productive relationships with vendors, partners, and internal stakeholders. Travel Flexibility: Willingness to travel for vendor evaluations, project oversight, and industry events. PreferredExperience with IoT or enterprise integration preferred. Environment and Normal Working ConditionsOffice/Warehouse environment. Core business hours are generally 8:00 am – 5:00 pm. However, this position w may require work to be performed outside of normal business hours based on Company operations. Physical RequirementsPrimary functions require sufficient physical ability and mobility to work in an office setting including verbally communicating, seeing and hearing to exchange information and fine coordination including use of a computer keyboard. Daily physical functions may include standing, sitting and walking for prolonged periods of time and occasionally stooping, bending, kneeling, crouching, reaching, and twisting. The employee may engage in lifting, carrying, pushing, and pulling light to moderate amounts of weight up to 25 pounds. The position also requires the operation of office equipment requiring repetitive hand movement. Salary Description
Target comp $150K-$175K (base + annual bonus)
