Database/SharePoint Support Associate (15.39) OCT Consulting is a business management and technology consulting firm that supports Federal Government clients. We provide consulting services in the areas of Strategy, Process Improvement, Change Management, Program and Project Management, Acquisition/Procurement, and Information Technology. Responsibilities and Duties OCT currently has an opening for a Database/SharePoint Support Associate to support a client requirement. This position is contingent upon contract award. The Associate serves as the dedicated resource that ensures accuracy, usability, and security in the client's contract data environment. This person will be a SME in modern database and reporting tools, including Microsoft 365 applications, SharePoint Online, and SQL-based systems. Additionally, the Associate will provide support for SharePoint Online architecture, workflows, document libraries, collaboration sites, and integration with Microsoft 365 applications. Day to day responsibilities include: Database Development and Maintenance: Design and update database structures, forms, queries, and dashboards to meet evolving acquisition and contracting requirements, leveraging modern tools such as SQL Server, SharePoint Online lists/libraries, and Power Platform. Testing and Quality Assurance: Conduct functional and regression testing of database modifications to ensure accuracy, reliability, security, and compliance with agency standards Documentation: Prepare and maintain technical documentation for database objects, workflows, integrations, and user guidance to support continuity of operations and knowledge transfer Reporting and Analytics: Develop and refine reports, queries, and interactive dashboards using Power BI and other analytics tools to provide actionable insights into acquisition activities, contract status, and resource utilization -- responding to queries and questions as needed. Transition Support: Assist in possible migration to a new integrated contract writing and financial management system, including creation of a legacy data repository to preserve historical records, ensure data integrity, and enable seamless access to archived information. Technical Expertise: Provide advisory support and troubleshooting for database-related issues, leveraging SME-level proficiency in Microsoft 365, Power Platform, SharePoint Online, and SQL-based solutions to optimize performance, usability, and scalability. Data Extraction & Validation: Extract and validate contract and procurement data, ensuring accuracy, completeness, and consistency of all outputs to support reliable acquisition decision-making. Contract Data Analytics: Produce recurring reports and conduct trend analyses on obligations, expenditures, and contract actions, identifying anomalies, compliance risks, and inefficiencies to strengthen oversight and improve contract execution. Administration and Maintenance: Maintain and update SharePoint Online tools, applications, and site collections. Ensure compliance with governance, security, and data management policies. Workflow and Automation: Develop, configure, and maintain workflows using modern tools such as Power Automate and Power Apps, while supporting legacy workflows created in SharePoint Designer as needed. Troubleshoot and de-bug broken workflows, codes, and previously developed tools as needed. Collaboration and Integration: Partner with Government staff to design, implement, and evolve SharePoint solutions that support contracting tools, workflows, and business processes. Integrate SharePoint with other Microsoft 365 services (Teams, OneDrive, Outlook) to enhance collaboration and efficiency. Documentation and Reporting: Document processes, configurations, and procedures required for effective management, reporting, and auditing of SharePoint activities. Provide user guidance and training materials to support adoption. Continuous Improvement: Recommend and implement enhancements to improve usability, efficiency, and performance of the SharePoint environment, ensuring alignment with operational and strategic objectives. Requirements Qualifications/Requirements Bachelor's degree in Information Technology or related field 5-8 years’ experience in database support or SharePoint administration roles Direct experience designing, developing, testing, documenting, and maintaining SharePoint environments and sites Proficiency in SQL Server including query writing and database design Highly proficient in Microsoft 365 applications (Excel, Power BI) Experience utilizing Power BI and other analytics tools to develop reports, queries, and interactive dashboards Experience supporting development of workflows and applications using Power Automate and Power Apps Ability to obtain and maintain required security clearance; background investigation may involve credit, fingerprint, and law enforcement agency checks Fully remote/telework position with requirement to use camera during Microsoft Teams meetings when directed Benefits Benefits OCT offers competitive compensation packages and a full suite of benefits which includes: Medical, Dental, and Vision insurance Retirement savings 401K plan provided by an industry leading provider with 3% employer contributions of the employee’s gross salary Paid Time Off and Standard Government Holidays Life Insurance, Short- and Long-Term disability benefits Training Benefits Salary Range: $90,000 - $110,000 yearly commensurate with experience, education, etc. About OCT Consulting OCT Consulting LLC is a Small Business (SB) providing professional services and information technology solutions to the Federal government and commercial clients.
