This hybrid position can be based anywhere in the M&T footprint. OVERVIEW: Manages the work of multiple visualization teams as they develop dashboards/reports. Partners with senior leadership to provide visualizations that enable the business to make data informed decisions. Leads enterprise culture of continuous improvement for visualizations. Provides direct leadership of Data Visualization team Leads. POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES: Lead the effort to enable data informed decisions by gathering visualization requirements from business line senior management and assigning to data visualization teams. Develop best practices for data visualizations, publishing Business Intelligence (BI) dashboards/reports, training organization on tool usage and providing advice and oversight to Data Visualization Leads as they implement. Encourage continuous improvement culture for visualizations by facilitating ongoing senior leadership feedback loops. Ensure Data Visualization Leads are implementing a... consistent quality assurance process for the creation of accurate data models and visualization within BI Tools and serve as a point of escalation to approve and/or provide guidance on process exceptions. Ensure templates, standards and themes developed by data visualization teams are intuitive to navigate and understand by business users regardless of their data literacy. Ensure data visualization teams provide actionable insights to the lines of business. Ensure consistent access to ad-hoc analysis and self-service BI tools across the enterprise. Exercise usual authority of a manager concerning staffing, performance appraisals, promotions, salary recommendations, performance management and terminations. Understand and adhere to the Company's risk and regulatory standards, policies and controls in accordance with the Company's Risk Appetite. Identify risk-related issues needing escalation to management. Design, implement, maintain and enhance internal controls to mitigate risk on an ongoing basis. Identify risk-related issues needing escalation to management. Maintain M&T internal control standards, including timely implementation of internal and external audit points together with any issues raised by external regulators as applicable. Complete other related duties as assigned. NATURE AND SCOPE: This position manages the Commercial Credit Risk Information Management and Reporting team. Report data is sourced from nCINO, AFS, CRS, ERM and other applications. The team uses SQL and other tools to develop commercial credit risk analytical reports. The reports are distributed via Tableau, Excel, and Adobe. Reports are in tabular and graphic (data visualization) formats. Reports are distributed to relationship Managers, to commercial line management, underwriting teams, portfolio management teams, Credit Officers, 2nd line Credit risk and related Credit Risk Committees. Some of the Key Risk Indicator Reports are distributed to Credit Risk Committee, Management Risk Committee and Risk Committee of the Board. Report content includes adherence or exceptions to Credit policy, progress reports for Continuous Credit Monitoring (Annual Reviews, Property Level reviews), Loan Covenants, volume and workflow reporting for nCINO approvals, Relationship manager dashboard, portfolio Manager dashboards. There are several enterprise level initiatives underway to improve coverage and quality of Credit Risk Analysis by this First Line of Defense team. Over 70 reports are in production. Jira is used to manage the report request intake process and prioritization queue. MANAGERIAL/SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITY: Manage a team of 15-16 reporting analysts MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED: Bachelor's degree and a minimum of 9 years related experience, or in lieu of a degree, a combined minimum of 13 years higher education and/ or work experience, including a minimum of 9 years related experience Minimum of 3 years managerial, supervisory and/or work leadership experience Tactical experience with a minimum of one data visualization tool Experience designing and developing advanced dashboards/reports and data visualizations Expert knowledge of data visualization approaches Experience incorporating data storytelling into visualizations Experience using Structured Query Language (SQL) to analyze, extract, and transform data IDEAL QUALIFICATIONS PREFERRED: Tactical experience with multiple data visualization tools Experience driving business value through data visualizations Knowledge of data management concepts and terminology Certification in data storytelling and/or data visualization tools Location: Sanford, North Carolina, United States of America At M&T Bank, we make a difference in people's lives.
