Hybrid position located in Milwaukee, WI

PURPOSE

Build and continually refine strategy for a state-of-the-art data and analytics solution at MGIC while working across the business to deliver a new level of analytics capabilities using new advanced tools, data and technologies.

PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Responsible for conducting and designing quantitative analytics utilizing advanced data models, both structured and unstructured.
Participates in the continuous development and refinement of analytical vision, processes, and system approaches that support customer insights, market strategy, and competitive intelligence.
Plans or participates in the planning of complex data and analytics strategy. Establishes scope and objectives and develops the strategy for completion.
Collaborates with business decision makers and technical teams to develop and deploy analytical approaches that improve understanding of customer behavior, competitor footprint and market dynamics.
Works to standardize development and use of computational services while communicating and educating end users on those services.

EXPERIENCE / BACKGROUND

Advanced interdisciplinary knowledge, including mathematics, statistics, and programming.
Proficiency in data and statistical tools/languages such as Python and R.
Experience applying machine learning methods to behavior prediction and market modeling.
Demonstrated ability to tackle ambiguous problems with minimal direction; naturally curious, proactive in exploring solution paths, and comfortable proposing new ideas to move work forward.
Strong communication skills with the ability to translate complex analytical concepts for non‑technical stakeholders; highly collaborative and effective working with fellow data scientists and cross‑functional teams.
Completion of a Master's Degree in Computer Science, Quantitative Analytics, Statistics, Data Science, or STEM field.

Pay Range:

$86,070.00 - $142,020.00

This range aligns with current market data and reflects our commitment to competitive and equitable compensation. Salary offers are based on factors such as experience, skills, education, and training. The range may vary in certain locations to reflect local market conditions. It is not typical to initiate pay at the top of the range to account for internal equity and allow for future and continued salary growth
