Title: Data Scientist Location: Charlotte United States Job Description: Akkodis is seeking a Data Scientist for a Contract with a client in Charlotte, NC(Remote). Candidates must have hands-on knowledge of metadata management tools like Alation to support data governance and enterprise data quality initiatives. Rate Range: $47/hour to 49/hour; The rate may be negotiable based on experience, education, geographic location, and other factors. Data Scientist job responsibilities include: Manage and maintain metadata repositories using tools like Alation to ensure data accuracy, consistency, and accessibility. Collaborate with data owners and engineering teams to define and enforce data governance policies and standards. Support data quality initiatives by identifying gaps, validating datasets, and implementing stewardship best practices. Document data lineage, definitions, and usage to enhance transparency and trust across enterprise data assets. Analyze and interpret complex datasets to support business decisions and improve data-driven strategies. Stay current with metadata management trends and contribute to continuous improvement of data stewardship processes. Required Qualifications: Bachelor's or master's degree in data science, Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field. 6-8 years of professional experience in data management or data science roles. Proven expertise in technical data stewardship and metadata management practices. Hands-on experience with tools like Alation for managing enterprise metadata and supporting data governance.
