Data Platform Support Engineer - Direct-Hire/FTE - Remote (US) Title: Data Platform Support Engineer Location: Remote (US) Duration: Direct-Hire/FTE Compensation: $145,000-155,000 Annual Salary Work Requirements: , Holders or Authorized to Work in the U.S. Summary: This engineer supports the Newton Environment (Hadoop/Cloudera ecosystem) to ensure reliability, performance, monitoring, and successful integration of ML Ops processes. This role provides stabilization while EWS hires full-time staff . What This Person Will Do • Perform daily service checks, pipeline monitoring, triage, and issue resolution. • Manage data replication checks, feed performance, and restart/repair as required. • Coordinate with Windows, Linux, DevOps, and patching teams for upgrades and monthly changes. • Execute vulnerability remediation and system hardening. • Provide end-user support, including queries, access, troubleshooting, and tuning. • Implement recommendations from the Newton Health Check (Summer '25). • Build dashboards using Cloudera Observability, Grafana, or Splunk for proactive monitoring. • Maintain and update system documentation and runbooks. • Produce monthly "Newton Quality of Life operational reports. Target Background • 5-8+ years administering Hadoop or Cloudera environments. • Strong Linux administration and distributed system operations expertise. • Experience supporting data scientists/ML teams.
