As the Data Platform Lead, you’ll architect and guide the development of advanced data pipelines that integrate real-time and batch processing from various data sources, including IoT and EHR systems. You’ll collaborate closely with engineering, cloud, and healthcare technology teams to ensure data integrity, security, and performance across the platform. This is a mission-driven opportunity to reshape healthcare operations and patient outcomes through innovative data solutions.Accountabilities:
Design and implement batch and real-time data pipelines using technologies like Kafka and Spark.
Build and maintain structured data lakes and warehouses supporting analytics and machine learning.
Partner with engineering and cloud teams to deliver highly available and secure data systems.
Integrate and standardize healthcare data from third-party sources such as Epic, Cerner, and Meditech.
Ensure data systems meet healthcare compliance standards, including HIPAA.
Lead architectural decisions to improve platform scalability, performance, and resiliency.
Manage access control, data encryption, and anonymization protocols for sensitive data.
Requirements
5+ years of experience in a Data Engineering or Data Platform Engineering role.
Proven leadership skills with experience mentoring and guiding engineering teams.
Expertise in Python and Java for building and automating data workflows.
Hands-on experience with big data tools (e.g., Apache Spark) and Kafka for streaming.
Strong knowledge of AWS cloud services related to data infrastructure.
Experience with TimeScale and container orchestration tools such as Docker and Kubernetes.
Familiarity with infrastructure-as-code tools like Terraform is a plus.
Bonus: Background in healthcare tech or experience with EHR systems is highly valued.
