Data Mapper – Business Analyst (Life Insurance / ACORD / Annuities)

Recently, our team has spearheaded the Conversion & Go Live of apps which support the backbone of the Financial Trading Industry. We are seeking a hands-on Business/Technical Analyst with strong expertise in Life Insurance and ACORD Life & Annuity data mapping. This role is critical in translating complex business requirements into precise data mappings, documentation, and technical specifications. The ideal candidate is a doer comfortable rolling up their sleeves to analyze data, create mapping specifications, and work directly with engineers and business stakeholders. We are looking for a Business Analyst who can, but is not limited to, the following: • Analyze and map ACORD XML, JSON, flat files, and legacy data into target logical models. • Conduct gap analysis between ACORD standards, source systems, and target BRx data models. • Develop data mapping specifications, transformation rules, and validation requirements. • Work closely with engineering teams to define API specifications (Kafka, JSON, XML, Postgres). • Create and maintain data mapping workbooks, schemas, and technical documentation. • Participate in stability reviews, non-functional requirements (NFRs), and end-to-end validation. • Partner with QA to support data validation, regression testing, and verification scripts. • Collaborate cross-functionally in Agile/Scrum environments using JIRA and Confluence. Qualifications • Bachelor’s or Master’s in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field. • 7–10 years of experience as a Business Analyst / Technical Analyst in Life Insurance or Annuities. • Hands-on experience with ACORD Life & Annuity standards, ALIP (Accenture Life Insurance Platform) preferred. • Proven expertise in data mapping, documentation, and validation. • Strong understanding of data models, SQL/Postgres, XML, JSON, and flat files. • Exposure to Kafka topics, API integrations, and modern data pipelines. • Proficient in Agile methodologies, JIRA, and Confluence. • Excellent communication and problem-solving skills; comfortable engaging both business and technical teams.
