Role Overview:
Could you be our next Data Governance Analyst II'Globe Life is looking for a Data Governance Analyst II to join the team!

In this role, you will be responsible for executing and supporting data governance initiatives within the Data and Analytics team. This role involves hands-on activities to ensure data cataloging, quality, consistency, and usability for analytics and reporting through the implementation of governance principles. The analyst will perform key governance functions such as data profiling, cataloging, and monitoring while implementing and maintaining governance processes and standards. By collaborating with data Engineers, BI developers, and business users, the Data Analyst will directly contribute to a governed data environment that enables accurate and efficient decision-making and supports self-service analytics.
This is a hybrid position located in McKinney, TX (WFH Monday & Friday, In Office Tuesday-Thursday).

What You Will Do:
• Perform data profiling, validation, and quality checks to ensure the reliability of analytics datasets.
• Perform Data exploration and analysis to identify trends, patterns, and potential issues in analytical datasets.
• Write and optimize SQL queries to extract, manipulate, and analyze data.
• Create, update, and enhance the Data Catalog, ensuring datasets are properly tagged, classified and accessible for analytics and reporting purposes.
• Actively manage and maintain metadata, data dictionaries, and lineage documentation to ensure accurate and consistent data definitions across the environment.
• Monitor and optimize the adoption of the data catalog and metadata tools, enabling users to easily discover and utilize governed datasets.
• Create and maintain dashboards and reports to track the utilization, completeness, and accuracy of metadata and cataloged data assets.
• Collaborate with BI developers, data scientists, and business users to align metadata and catalog efforts with analytics requirements.
• Identify data quality issues, investigate root causes, work directly with stakeholders to address issues.
• Utilize tools such as Informatica IDMC to manage metadata, catalog assets, and track data lineage effectively.

What You Can Bring:
• Bachelor's degree in information science, data management, computer science or related field.
• Experience working with Data Governance tools, preferred.
• Three or more years of experience in data analysis, preferred.
• Experience working with Life Insurance & Annuity industry data, preferred.
• Certifications in Data and Analytics practices (Preferred).
• Working knowledge on Data Governance tools such as Informatica IDMC, Alation, Collibra.
• Working knowledge on SQL Server, Query Optimization.
• Working knowledge on programming languages Python, R, and SQL to analyze and visualize data.
• Working knowledge on Data profiling and metadata scanning tools.
• Working knowledge in data visualization tools such as Tableau, Power BI, and QlikView.
• Able to work on cloud platforms such as AWS, AZURE.
• Ability to create a narrative from data findings in a business context.
• Communicate complex information, concepts, or ideas in a confident and well-organized manner through verbal, written, and/or visual means.
• Function in a collaborative environment, seeking consultation with other analysts and experts.
• Working knowledge of L&A insurance industry standard Data Governance operating model and procedures is highly preferred.
• Strong personal computer and business solutions software skills.
• Strong communication skills to communicate with team members, and management.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
