About the Data Ventures Team

Our Data Ventures team creates reusable technologies to help with client acquisition, onboarding, and enabling merchants, while ensuring a seamless experience for both partners. We also enhance responsibilities and diversity according to arenaflex's Everyday Low Price philosophy. We deliver affordability, but we also provide customized experiences for customers across all channels – in-store, mobile application, and websites. Our team is responsible for offering support to US Marketplace merchants. We focus on providing fast solutions for the cases/tickets made by merchants. We connect with many teams across the organization to provide exceptional merchant experience.

What You'll Do

Do you have endless energy and enthusiasm for designing information used to tackle dynamic issues that will shape the fate of retail? With the sheer size of arenaflex's current circumstance comes the greatest of enormous informational collections. As an arenaflex Data Specialist, you will dive into our mammoth size of information to assist with releasing the force of retail information science by envisioning, creating, and keeping up with information pipelines that our Information Researchers and Examiners can depend on. You will be liable for adding to a coordination layer of perplexing information changes, refining crude information from source into designated, important information assets for utilization in a represented manner. You will collaborate with Information Researchers, Investigators, different designers, and business partners to settle perplexing and energizing difficulties so we can work out capacities that develop the retail plan of action while having a beneficial outcome on our clients' lives.

Your Key Responsibilities Will Include:

Data Transformation and Integration

Concentrates data from distinguished data sets and creates robust data pipelines
Transform data to a structure that is relevant to the problem by selecting appropriate methods
Generates data on current analysis trends and emerging technologies
Design and implement efficient ETL processes for large-scale data operations


Data Source Identification

Supports the understanding of the need demand of requirements and service level arrangements
Identifies the most suitable source for data that is fit for purpose
Performs initial data quality checks on extracted data
Evaluates data sources for reliability and scalability


Data Modeling

Analyzes complex data elements, systems, data streams, conditions, and relationships
Contributes to conceptual, physical, and logical data models
Fosters the Logical Data Model and Physical Data Models including data warehouse and data store designs
Defines relational tables, primary and foreign keys, and stored procedures to create an data model architecture
Evaluates existing data models and physical databases for variances and inconsistencies
Generates efficient data streams and examines data related system integration challenges


Code Development and Testing

Writes code to develop the required solution and application features by determining the appropriate programming language
Utilizes business, technical, and data requirements effectively
Creates test cases to review and validate the proposed solution design
Makes proofs of concept and tests the code using appropriate testing approaches
Deploys software to production servers with minimal downtime
Contributes code documentation, maintains playbook, and provides optimal development updates


Applied Business Intelligence

Provides recommendations to business partners to address complex business issues
Develops business cases for projects with an extended return on investment or cost savings
Translates business requirements into projects, activities, and tasks and adapts to overall business process
Serves as the need arises with tangible solutions and results
Suggests new processes and approaches to working


Data Governance

Establishes, adjusts, and reports data governance activities and recommendations
Implements data governance practices in partnership with business partners and peers
Interprets organization and regulatory policies on data
Educates others on data governance processes, practices, methods, and rules
Provides recommendations on required updates or contributions to data governance policies, practices, or rules


Leadership and Mentorship

Exhibits exceptional expertise and applies this to the development, execution, and improvement of action plans
Provides expert advice and guidance to others in the organization
Supports and adjusts efforts to meet client and business needs
Builds commitment for perspectives and reasoning across teams
Provides and supports the execution of business solutions by building relationships and networks with key stakeholders
Identifies business needs, determining and executing essential processes and practices


Process Improvement and Community Engagement

Promotes and supports organization policies, procedures, mission, values, and standards of ethics and integrity
Provides training and guidance to ensure compliance with organizational standards
Ensures business needs are being met by evaluating the ongoing effectiveness of current plans, projects, and initiatives
Applies concepts for improving efficiency and cost effectiveness
Participates in and supports community outreach events
Creates training documentation and trains end-users on data modeling
Supervises the tasks of less experienced programmers and specifies system troubleshooting supports


What You'll Bring

We are looking for candidates with a strong technical background and a passion for data engineering. The ideal candidate will have:

Required Qualifications

Technical Expertise: Proficient with Hadoop, Flash, Cloud, Python/PySpark and Java, Streaming, Kafka, and Backend technologies
Programming Skills: A proven track record coding with at least one programming language (e.g., Scala, Python)
Cloud Platforms: Knowledgeable in one of cloud computing platforms (e.g., GCP, Azure)
Data Modeling: Skilled in data modeling and data migration protocols
Experience: Experience with GCP, Data warehousing, BI preferred
Integration Tools: Experience with integration tools like Automic, Wind current
Big Data Solutions: Experience in building highly scalable Big Data solutions and ETL ecosystems
Education: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field


Preferred Qualifications

Knowledge of Databricks is an additional benefit
Hands-on experience in NoSQL like Cosmos DB along with RDBMS like MySQL, Postgres is a plus
Hands-on working experience with any messaging platform like Kafka is preferred
Ability to increase the efficiency of the team by fixing Cycles of Software Development, Requirement Intake, Effort Assessment
Exhibiting innovative, critical thinking, and troubleshooting skills
Graduate degree in Computer Science or related field with 2 years of experience in programming or related field
Background in data engineering, database engineering, business intelligence, or business analysis
