About the Data Center Engineering Division

Behind every search query, every video stream, and every cloud application lies a complex infrastructure that keeps the digital world running. arenaflex's Data Center Engineering team is responsible for designing, building, and maintaining this infrastructure—the physical data centers that house the servers and networking equipment powering our services.

Our engineering teams work on challenges that few organizations face at this scale. We're not just maintaining existing systems; we're pioneering new approaches to make our data centers the most energy-efficient and environmentally sustainable in the world. This means every team member contributes to innovations that shape the future of technology infrastructure.

The Hardware Operations team specifically handles the deployment, monitoring, and maintenance of the physical infrastructure that keeps arenaflex's services running. As an intern on this team, you'll gain exposure to the full lifecycle of data center equipment—from initial deployment to ongoing maintenance and optimization.

As a Data Center Engineering Intern, you'll be immersed in real projects that make a genuine difference. Your responsibilities will include:

Infrastructure Deployment: Participate in the installation, cabling, and setup of servers and network equipment in our data center facilities. You'll learn how to properly handle and deploy sensitive hardware while following strict safety and security protocols.
System Maintenance: Contribute to routine maintenance activities, hardware upgrades, and equipment refresh projects. This hands-on experience will teach you the importance of maintaining uptime and reliability in mission-critical environments.
Troubleshooting & Diagnostics: Identify trends that may indicate potential equipment failures, document issues thoroughly, and collaborate with remote teams to resolve technical challenges. You'll develop strong problem-solving skills that are essential for any engineering role.
Linux System Administration: Configure, troubleshoot, and optimize Linux operating systems running on our servers. You'll gain practical experience with one of the most widely-used server operating systems in the industry.
Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with various stakeholders including network engineers, software teams, and operations staff to ensure smooth deployment and maintenance of data center infrastructure.
Documentation & Communication: Maintain accurate records of configurations, procedures, and changes. You'll also communicate effectively with both internal teams and external partners.
