Position Overview

We are currently seeking a talented Data Analytics Manager to lead our music industry analytics efforts. This is a part-time position offering $18 per hour with flexible remote work arrangements. The ideal candidate will combine strong technical expertise in data analysis and statistical modeling with excellent communication skills and a genuine passion for the music industry.

As our Data Analytics Manager, you will be responsible for driving data-informed business strategies through sophisticated analysis of large-scale transactional datasets. You will work closely with cross-functional partners including marketing, product, engineering, and sales teams to identify opportunities, understand performance drivers, and measure the impact of strategic initiatives.

Key Responsibilities


Drive analytical approaches to complex business problems through data creation, analysis, and statistical modeling. Develop new features incorporating data across internal and external sources
Build and apply classification, regression, and clustering models to derive actionable insights from large datasets
Contribute to strategic initiatives and new business opportunities by developing predictive models and frameworks to understand potential, performance drivers, and environmental factors
Support data-informed business processes by applying data mining, quantitative analysis, and visualization to surface and elevate key topics
Extract and prepare data for analysis by securing, organizing, scrubbing, and controlling complex, large-scale data from various dynamic sources using tools such as PySpark and advanced SQL
Apply machine learning techniques including linear and logistic regression, decision trees, or k-means clustering to derive, validate, and measure conclusions from data
Partner with cross-functional stakeholders to identify opportunities and understand performance, diving into data to drive meaningful and actionable insights
Contribute to organizational needs through ongoing reporting and analysis to inform business, product, marketing, and sales decisions
Lead content performance and audience analysis for product releases, developing and tracking key metrics to measure success
Perform statistical analysis including KPI deep dives, behavioral segmentation, and customer journey analysis
Develop analytical pipelines for automated, scalable, repeatable, and integrated analysis using modern big data platforms such as Databricks, Snowflake, or Google BigQuery
Collaborate with Engineering and Product teams to execute data projects and contribute to solution discovery, design, build, and QA processes
Work on data models, database structure/tables, and ETL/ELT pipelines ensuring data quality and validation standards
Lead and mentor a team by setting boundaries to maximize influence and impact within the organization


Required Qualifications

Education

Bachelor's degree in a quantitative field including Statistics, Mathematics, Physics, Computer Science, Engineering, or other related analytical discipline
Graduate degree in a similar field (preferred)


Experience

3+ years of data analysis experience
3+ years of management experience
Experience developing statistical models and analyses in an industry setting for business use cases
Experience working with media performance data
Experience working with data in the entertainment or media industry
Experience leading data-driven projects across cross-functional landscapes (preferred)
Experience building, managing, and motivating teams in strategic support functions (preferred)


Technical Skills

Strong hands-on experience developing analytical solutions using scripting tools (Python/R)
Proficiency in advanced SQL, large-scale data, and distributed computing languages (PySpark)
Experience with data mining in distributed systems (Spark/Databricks)
Proficiency in data analysis and visualization tools (Tableau/Looker)
Experience developing analytical software that scales investigations
Applied knowledge of supervised and unsupervised learning techniques
Strong experience documenting data requirements, rules, and assumptions
