Position Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled Data Analyst with a Power BI Development background with experience in clinical data environments and biotech solutions. You will play a critical role in designing, building, and deploying interactive dashboards and analytical reports that integrate data from various LIMS/MDM systems and other clinical data sources. Your work will empower our clients to generate insights, optimize laboratory operations, and support regulatory compliance.
Key Responsibilities
Dashboard and Report Development:
Design and build interactive, visually compelling Power BI dashboards and reports customized for clinical, biotech, and laboratory management needs.
Translate complex business requirements into clear, actionable insights using data visualization best practices.
Data Modeling & Integration:
Develop robust data models, leveraging DAX and Power Query (M) to transform raw clinical and laboratory data.
Integrate and consolidate data from multiple sources such as LIMS, MDM systems, electronic health records (EHR), SQL databases, and cloud platforms.
Collaboration & Documentation:
Work closely with business analysts, clinical researchers, lab managers, and other stakeholders to understand data requirements and clinical workflows.
Document data processes, dashboard functionality, and user guidelines; provide training sessions to end-users.
Performance Optimization & Compliance:
Optimize data queries and refresh mechanisms to ensure real-time performance and data accuracy.
Ensure that dashboards and data models comply with regulatory standards and data governance policies (e.g., HIPAA, GDPR) where applicable.
Required Skills and Experience
Technical Expertise:
Minimum 3 years of experience developing in Power BI.
Strong proficiency in SQL, DAX, and Power Query (M) for data manipulation and performance optimization.
Solid experience integrating and visualizing data from LIMS/MDM systems and clinical datasets.
Domain Knowledge:
Familiarity with clinical, biotech, or laboratory data management and the unique challenges of processing regulated data.
Background in creating financial or accounting dashboards.
Understanding of data privacy, compliance, and governance within the life sciences or healthcare contexts.
Collaborative Skills:
Excellent communication skills, with the ability to translate technical information for clinical and business stakeholders.
Preferred Qualifications
Advanced experience working with cloud-based data platforms (e.g., Azure Synapse, Azure Data Factory, or similar solutions in a biotech context).
Exposure to financial applications
Prior consulting experience with biopharmaceutical, clinical research, or laboratory information management system projects.
